This. It’s interesting how ATRL would exclude the likes of Madonna and Mariah from MPG conversations because they weren’t current but refuse to let go of the 2000s and 2010s girls that were left behind

-Her last successful era was back in 2013. 
 

-Her last #1 was 9 years ago. 

-Her last solo top 10 was 10 years ago.

Gaga is indeed a MPG she can tour stadiums WW and has seen the top 5 both solo and otherwise recently. Thats why she is included in these threads

 

she also has a mass amount of respect too from the GP too at that other 'swiftie' who brought up those other people in here

She’s a legacy pop girl

Not a Main Pop Girl but She's still A-List.  One of the most recognized singers in the planet. Iconic name  maybe in some years she could fall to B-list status but she has the Icon status sealed like Christina Aguilera.

Yes. Once you’re a MPG you don’t lose the status. She’s just irrelevant atm. 

Well, she's definitely a MPG from the early 10s. But she ain't a MPG currently. So no, she's not. 

Taylor, Beyoncé, Gaga, and Adele are the only MPG left from that era. And Rihanna of she ever comes back to music.

Gaga is not comparable to Katy. You are either an obsessed hater or extremely deluded to think so.

 

Katy is struggling to sell out her Vegas residency, while Gaga had a sold out stadium tour with a $5.7m average per show and now her just announced Vegas jazz shows are almost sold out before the pre-sale. 

 

Streaming wise Gaga is receiving more daily streams on every streaming platform and in general has bigger classics. 

 

Next year one of the most anticipated movie sequels is coming out and Gaga is starring in it after already having two successful movies in the few recent years.

 

And Katy......is being an American Idol (not even the highest rated music show on TV) judge.

I still remember a few weeks ago when a mosters listed Katy and Gaga as main pop girls. It didn't sound right

The girls here still includes Christina Aguilera on 'MPG' conversations like we're still in 2004, so I don't see why Katy shouldn't be considered one as well.

Not currently cuz a vegas residency and being a music show judge means your career is in shambles. But she will definitely recover. Just the other day my locals were questioning what happened to mother perry and begging for more pop smashes

yes, once you reach that status you can't lose it. she had several very successful eras and has many classics to her name.

 

y'all throw 'MPG' around and call anyone that and then wonder when those girlies disappear and want to revoke their MPG status. this is why i said we need to wait before calling Olivia a MPG, just because someone has a hit on the charts doesn't mean they're a MPG! they need to serve some longevity, be global, and have classics - all of which Katy has, even if her new projects flop.

I don't think that's something you can change. 

 

She'll always be a main one with Rihanna, Gaga, etc. I guess.

 

An artist that releases single after singles and consistently fails to chart in the top 100 is not a mpg, they are over. 
 

I mean one single multi platinum song the last decade says it all
