I'm surprised she scrapped all those singles but I guess we're getting 7 brand new songs so there is nothing to complain. I hope there is something more upbeat on the ep. Something energetic. I'm a little bit tired of those mid tempo R&b songs she's been doing lately.

I'd love the backstage tea on her label setup. 

 

She was with Uptown/Republic for Jump and Better Thangs (in partnership with Beauty Marks), but they mysteriously disappeared from her song credits after that. Indicating a split. No surprises as the songs did nothing. 

 

Wondering aloud if she technically can't use those songs anymore because those were presumably recorded/intended for use as part of her previous deal. Hence why it's all-new tracks on the EP.

 

Or...

 

Maybe she's simply cutting her losses and reading the room when it comes to the reception of those tracks. She will (like most of the girls) just say she released those songs for fun and to express herself in "that" moment and these new songs are where she's at "now" lol. 

 

Again, I'm very here for the EP idea. So either scenario is A-ok with me. She should probably stick to this formula as a means of still being visible and active without the pressure of selling an album.

Anyways, most of the releases songs didn't click with me...my expectations are kinda low 

I hate when artists end up having multiple self-titled albums (like Britney lol). Like is it really that hard to come up with a good title?

Yes what is the actual problem? This is so smart. Why drop an album knowing she needs to build and set the foundation first. The EP is the foundation. Plus these are all new songs. 2 which are gonna be very big singles in addition to How We Roll
