Mariah, Whitney and Celine are known as the vocal trinity. They all have incredible careers. And have given us great music. Here we can discuss their discographies and how we feel about their music. All 3 of them have released great material, and all 3 of them have a distinctive sound/style. So let's analyze these legendary divas discographies.

What is wrong with a thread like this?

Everybody here is always fighting about stats, and if somebody is remembered or not. I thought it would be nice to have a thread to discusss the music of 3 legends. This is not a sales war thread. They are the 3 most successful vocalists of all time. I am sure there is an interesting conversation to have by comparing their catalogue and not their record sales.

Mariah clears for sure with Whitney coming second. Celine just doesn’t do it for me on all accounts although she’s talented.

It feels like Mariah put more effort into everything compared to them.

While Celine and Whitney are/were incredible vocalists, performers and interpreters, only Mariah is truly an artist among them. She obviously takes these.

Mariah for all 3 no contest. Love Whitney and Celine deep though!

I think Mariah has the strongest discography, then Celine (who's albums are actually very underrated in the stan world) and last Whitney (I like her albums but I think I have her at last because she has way less releases than the others).

Regarding album covers I actually think Celine's are the best.

For music videos I like Whitney's the best, almost all her videos were very colorful and went very well with the song.

Mariah clears music videos and arguable most consistent discography. Her overly photoshopped album covers lose to Celine.

Love all 3 ladies, but Mariah without a doubt. While Celine and Whitney have great songs as well, they mostly got the music handed at them, while Mariah was always heavily involved in the creation process of her music and discography. On top of her hard work, her voice is just as good as the other 2 ladies.

The combination of that makes her discography feel more genuine and authentic.

Also Mariah is one of the very, very few acts from the 80's/90's to have good albums. Most albums of that period are not enjoyable to me. The only ones worth listening to are Mariah's, Janet's and Madonna's albums (from the mainstream acts I know).

Mariah's talent is truly understated IMO. She's not only one of the greatest singers, but also one of the greatest songwriters in history. Listening to her book and hearing how she literally just hears melodies and words in her head... It's amazing what she has accomplished with only what her opera singer mother had taught her, so basically little to no formal music training (in the sense that she was taught to play an instrument or to read music, obviously her exposure to her mother's musician friends at a young age could definitely count as some sort of training.) She's borderline genius... If she were a male artist, she'd be called that all the time, no questions asked imo.

Of course, Whitney and Celine are incredible talents, too. They both are two of the greatest female vocalists in history, Whitney being one of the defining voices of the last century.

While they are amazing talents, and both have inarguably impacted popular music, Mariah's writing talent, in addition to her singing talent... Puts her in a league of her own, IMO.

Whitney and Celine never stood a chance here.

Of the 3, Mariah was the only one who really cared about being a pop star/ MPG/ artist...which is probably why despite selling tons of records and closer to Madonna's age, Celine and Whitney were never compared as extensively to Madonna as Mariah.
