Ariana Grande - 'petal'
If it holds up, it would become her second biggest opening week. That's quite amazing!!!

it's literally all over the first page. Anyway, great numbers. 62m is her second biggest debut there, so this is not bad at all!

Cardi B - "AH HA"
Another bop from her.

Wow, the video was amazing and so much fun to watch. This is in her top 3 videos of the decade (Positions, WCBF & this).

stay, big feelings and oh well grew on me immensely throughout the day. This album is a masterpiece. It's definitely in her top 5 for me already. The critics and stan world are doing to Petal exactly what they did to Positions, panning a mellow, soft pop/R&B masterpiece upon release, only to call it underrated years later.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
The album is great. It kind of reminds me of a mix between ES and Sweetener. The sound she's using on a lot of the tracks, especially the ones with those bubble like textures, is the experimental side of the album, which reminds me a lot of Sweetener. Petal, however, still feels like its own entity rather than sounding like any of her previous albums. The album borrows certain stylistic elements from albums like those mentioned, but it ultimately stands on its own. I would say that it's a dark, yet euphoric and deeply melancholic record. My faves/current top 3: Like I Do, Petal and Never Get Over Me.

Omg. Could you tell us a bit about the genre too? Like, are there any R&B tracks, or is it mostly pop?

It ends at midnight est, though. It's definitely a global release.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
It is probably based on her saying that she is taking a slower approach to releasing music and has reconciled her relationship with it in a different way. I don't remember exactly when she said that, but it was before the ES era. Anyway, I'm happy this hasn't l-worded yet, and I hope it stays this way until Thursday at noon, at the very least (it would be better if it did not at all, but that is going to be impossible).

I liked the album on my first listen, but after taking the time to digest all the songs and giving the whole album a few more listens, I'm actually OBSESSED with it now. Like, every single song is hitting so hard...I'm surprised so many people don't like it, especially since it's objectively a cohesive body of work. Taste may be subjective, but you can't deny the level of quality, care, and craftsmanship that went into this album. Also, why is anyone acting surprised at her numbers and calling her a flop and whatnot? As far as I am concerned, her songs usually start slow and then rise, i.e. Chanel. She's still not a household name or a huge name in general, so it's pretty unfair to expect so much from her already.

Happy birthday to this stunning Queen. My favorite song is probably Love Don't Cost A Thing (way too many to choose from!!!) and my favorite film would be Maid In Manhattan.

Tyla - 'A*POP'
Just had my first listen. It's a very nice album overall. Albeit, I don't find it as amazing as her debut personally (yet), it still has some great tracks on it. That Girl is probably my favorite on first listen. I'm definitely saving that one to the playlist. The closer (Hot Tubs) kind of reminds me of an experimental R&B track, something in the vein of Sex For Breakfast by Xtina or a Mariah album track from the '00s. Mr. Nonchalant is another huge bop. I could also see a lot of other tracks being growers too, so will I for certain have to give the whole album a few more spins as a whole. The singles she picked were definitely the right choices (Chanel & She Did It Again especially), since they have the most potential and sound the most GP/radio-friendly out of the whole album.
