This should have gotten a higher score than Lover tbh.  I was predicting a 7.4 ish from them.

Also, I don't get their gripe with the vocal processing on Maroon?  It really isn't anything too different.

Talking about two specific moments in two specific songs is not an indictment of the full album like you’re weirdly trying to imply

 At least its not gonna tank the average. But its a mess that this is lower than LOSER, her literal worst pop album. The OTH’s will be in here to “celebrate” soon as if the MC score isn’t still in the 83-86 range, exactly where it belongs overall.

Given the clear division between people who like this album and people who don’t, and the fact that their scores are staff averages, I almost wonder if it was tugged down a bit by people who really didn’t like it, where maybe Lover was met with a little more indifference in both directions.

their retrospective 90 for Red is so pretentious  They should’ve stuck to their initial.

They truly hate her. The 8.0 for Folklore was ridiculous. I think they just hate beautiful blonde women. But knowing what most Pitchfork writers look like IRL (I've seen them myself), I'd be mad too.

 

Just know that whenever you read one of these reviews it's literally coming from a hard 2 cave troll looking motherfucker who lives in a (shared) studio in Brooklyn and only eats tofu and thinks that being a Pitchfork writer makes them the creme de la creme and gives them license to tell other people what they're allowed to like.
