IMAX films only get played 4 to 5 times a day vs 20 to 50 times a day for new releases with all formats combined. This new Exorcist is the start of a new trilogy, which massive studio Universal will be pushing hard to make it a success. Plus exorcist is a bigger and more recognized icon can Taylor worldwide so if the film ends up with good critic scores for a horror film and word of mouth, it will easily take the top spot given it's advantage of having way more showtimes.
