The score itself is not unfair. 7/10 is a good score. However when you consider the scores they've given to much worse pop albums in the past few years, it kinda begs a question why. Why are they holding her to a much higher standard than other similar artists. 

 

Also, the day after their Midnights review they reviewed Burial's latest EP and gave it a 6.9. I love Burial so I gave it a go. The EP however is just random, literally random noises with hardly any music present. Maybe 10% of its 33 mins has music on it. Like how do you give almost the same score to these two albums :skull:

 

There's no consistency in their rankings, so I usually take them with a heap of salt. Not to mention the random Maroon dig, which is an excellent track. Good thing they got the two best songs right. The only redeeming quality about that review. 

With that review, it seems like they would go for some score around 5.

 

Maybe they're afraid of Swifties :rip:
