It's been 3 years since her single played rightfully by radio, a.k.a Never Really Over

ever since she hasnt scored any significant single

 

Daisies and Harleys in Hawaii made quite noise but not that much

Do you think she has chance to comeback soon?

It all depends on whether Dagny picks up her phone and gives Katy another NRO

Her Vegas tickets are struggling to sell at $30 each… Doesn’t seem like there’s much demand for her  maybe if she started doing Cameos

There’s more demand for a Kate Bush comeback if you ask me.

i mean the gp hasnt really moved for anything katy related ever since prism so i dont think theres a demand at all atm 

i also think nro made somewhat of an impact comparing to her other releases lately but i dont think it was actually a hit

There isn't demand for anyone's comeback outside their fanbase, unless they're legends or haven't released in many many years like Rihanna

 

Katy doesn't have that kind of hold over the GP anyway (and that's fine) and she's also been releasing music steadily since Witness. Her last single came out 6 months ago. If she releases a great song, the demand will generate itself

There is no demand for her, though I think she has what it takes to perform better than Smile if she played her cards right.

 

But she hasn't done that since the TD era so it's not looking promising for her

No. She's had tons of 'comeback' songs and they just flop one after another

For meme perry its a big NO, maybe for Waking up in vegas perry, something more edgy.

yeah, her streaming numbers prove she still has something to say, but what can we expect from someone who chose Daisies over CAIL and Tucked

The whole smile era was a complete mess and it will be hard to achieve a NRO-sized hit.

I think she should go back to the sound of her first album One of the boys & do pop rock with meaningful lyrics. She should stop acting goofy in music videos & take a serious approach.

If she could bring this team together again production and melody-wise but bring the writing maturity up 3 notches... GOLD.

With the right song, yes. Cry About It Later could have been a cute hit. I‘ve seen it on same playlists of people who are casual listeners and I‘ve also heard it on the radio quite a few times. She‘s sadly bad at picking singles. WIG is a bop tho

No, she will continue to make Target and GrubHub jingles since she is commercially viable as a celebrity but her days of radio/streaming hits are behind her.

She won’t get another smash single, but she should be stepping up her game and release better music + keep doing shows to build up demand for her brand (mainly for touring) 

 

Enough with the ugly shoes and bad single choices.

She’d released Charmbracelet just a few years before and a remix album in between, so she hadn’t been out of the game - she just hadn’t been doing as well commercially as she had in the 90s.

 

Also in some K-pop circles it apparently just means “any brand new single or album from any act” but that’s its own totally different context that I don’t follow.

I think she needs a music reinvention. They tried it with Witness with the new image and it didn’t work, so maybe something new musically rather than the basic dance songs on Smile. I feel like she plays it too safe trying to get hits, she needs to take more risks and go a different direction
