The irony of @Yes, AND being a contrarian OT: I feel this, I had to step away from gay social life when I cut back on drinking for my health. Luckily I have my boyfriend but it really is so difficult to find gay social activity that doesn't revolve around drinking or drugs.

It's interesting to see how social media has impacted each side of the aisle. Obviously the right is more susceptible to disinformation and anti-intellectualism fueled by distrust of the system and institutions. But the left has this weird problem where we're addicted to the dopamine hit you get from feeling morally superior, to the extent where we will nitpick the most pedantic **** and convince ourselves it has meaning or purpose, just so we can get that righteous dopamine hit.
