I want a Jhené Aiko collab soooo Bad ???? My top 2 fave artists on a song would be a dream come true :foxaylove2:

Add in SZA, FKA Twigs, Rosalia (as rumors hinted before, that they‘ve been working together) and we have the perfect list of featuressss

Lemonade was all Men features, it’s overdue, sis collabs with some talented Female energies

Jhene and SZA are imho out of the question on an album that is supposed to feel like a "liberation on the dancefloor".

FKA Twigs and Rosalia could work depending on the song.

I definitely want 2-3 unexpected collabs. I’d love if she got an old school diva like Patti or Diana on a big dance track. I’d be here for Grace Jones too.

She can gladly be a feature on their Greatest hits albums, on one of the extra tracks :ihype:

Soo you don’t think we gonna get at least 2-3 ballads/mid tempos that Jhené would perfectly work on?! Or some trap/hip hop songs, I highly doubt it will be an all uptempo - house album

No, that's 'wade through the waters'. "Wade in the Water" is a very famous spiritual song.

U can also have "slower" moments on a dance-y album, but ballads? I dont think so. Take Confessions on a Dancefloor by Madonna as an example or Jessie Ware's "Whats Your Pleasure" album and you'll see that they dont include ballads at all.

I think the slower moments on the album will be more like "Dancing On My Own" by Robyn or Moloko style. Like obviously still dance-y, but more chill.

I also dont think she's going to do trap at all this time around.

Edit: The album is described as fun, joyful and dance-y. Those attributes do not vibe with Jhene or SZA at all tbh. (I love Jhene myself, but Jhenes vibe is serving sth completely different)

I think I figured out why everyone is so agitated.

After 3 visual albums, it feels WEIRD to wait on a Beyoncé visual so far past the release of a single. Even “Apeshit” premiered with a video the VERY night it was debuted AT the show they were at.

I‘m thinking that if we had gotten a video 2 or 3 weeks from the single dropping, our level of satisfaction would have been high enough to get us through album release. Considering everything else has been pretty spot on in terms of radio and playlisting and now social media with Tik Tok (let’s be real y’all, she’s actually promoting), the only thing I can think of for why we’re on the edge is that we got too accustomed to a visual accompanying a song after the last 9 years.

Some of u (including you) still have to do the coping I had to go through: Bey is going to do what u dont expect her to do.

You expect a surprise release, shes releasing a lead 6 weeks before the album release.

You expect a crazy rollout, shes just dropping the lead and thats it.

You expect a video, she doesnt release a video and might never.

So now lets keep working on future events:

You expect a film to accompany Renaissance right away, she...

You expect a second album aka act ii, she...

I see where you’re coming from & agree that jhené would not really fit on a dance/house album, even tho, she does know how to ride a beat, judging by songs like “Maniac“ or “Body Language“.

I do hope, the album will have diversity in genres and incorporate rap/trap aswell, as I really don’t want an all house album & I don’t see Bey going the all house/dance route tbh

I'm not sure we're getting multiple genres, I would love that but someone corrected me here saying it's only House. Then again, we don't know anything for sure.

Nahh it doesn’t even make sense.. beyoncé is an urban artist at the end of the day.. she would alienate too many fans (including me) with an all house album and she knows that.. I‘m quite certain the album will have some diversity, probably house heavy, but still diverse

Given its streams, no one will tell the difference. New Beyoncé on GTA confirmed!

So odd. I JUST got the TikTok push notification despite having signed up for alerts for when she posts.

Anyway, should others be in the same boat, it means more views + engagement.

You're spot on IMO.

It's partially what makes the constant moans tolerable because in a way Bey has conditioned us to be visually inclined for more than 10 years.

I think some are glitching too because when she's not dropped with full on visuals (EIL, The Gift, Black Parade, Be Alive), she's generally not performed well commercially. BMS is slaying without a video, but because of said conditioning, the moaning is almost as if it wasn't. The irony being that a lot of those moaning were the same ones pre-BMS saying that they weren't fussed about the charts.

I've always been Chart Hive and am still shocked at how well she's doing solo. Which is probably why I'm so satisfied as is. She's already exceeding my expectations single-wise and doing a lot of what we wanted (no surprise drop, pre-orders, etc).

The positive of whatever side one is sitting on (angry or satisfied) is that we're about to be flooded with a lot imminently, which should (hopefully) dissolve the division.

I think you are so right and I think we're going to all be singing in harmonies come 1.9 weeks from now

Drake just took the risk :michael: I’m all for her usual genre bending and she can probably pull off any combination of songs, but all rumors have hinted at house and country being the main two genres.

I hope she doesn’t do what Drake did and throw a Jiminy Crickets on the end of an otherwise cohesive album to appease anyone.

How would Beyoncé releasing a House album alienate "urban" fans? House music is urban music, it's music that got started in the Detroit, Chicago and NY Clubs. It'll in no way alienate her fanbase, not to mention, she has a huge gay base.

Crazy to believe its only 2 weeks until her new album gets released and still everything remains a mystery, we can only guess how the art direction of the album will be, how the songs will sound like, how the boxes and the tee designs will be, the wait is almost coming to an end ?

House music has been so whitewashed for the past 20 years and the girlies forgot who was at the root of house music

I don't think House music was white washed, the only "white" dance genre is EDM. House and Disco are still pretty gay and POC imo.

This is a good point tbh. I actually have a question for y’all on this.

So when Bey initially dropped, there were all those articles about how she’s bringing “house music back to the mainstream”. Well, my white circuit queen friends were NOT amused. :rip:

I tried to reason with them that the articles were referring to 90s house, not EDM, but they pushed back that all house music is a type of EDM and there are variation in it like techno house or big room house (e.g. Calvin Harris).

Taking this melody as an example, would y’all accept that both are house music?

Deep House (vocal starts at 1:00 min)

Techno House

Or I guess how would you draw that line? Is it more of a stylistic difference than a genre change? Like, how would you react if Bey a song like the Techno House version vs the Deep House version?

I know it’s wordy, but thought I’d throw in a bit of discussion not centered around dragging Bey. :gaycat3:
