It's just crazy to me that in 2025 some of these arguments/comparisons are STILL being made. Love Amerie, Ashanti, etc. down but there's nothing interesting enough going on in their careers currently to really warrant still being pitted as a "rival" or a "threat" that could have been to Bey.

The BET 106 & Park throwback performances last night are going to start another discourse because the influence was thick enough to eat 

 

Everyone did well for themselves but some of them mics shouldn't have been on and some of them didn't need to try out choreo when they weren't known for it. The only one that looked like she should have had longevity was Mya.

Amerie was never seeing Beyonce.  If you lived through it, youd know.  The revisionist history is so whack.

People forget just how HUGE Crazy in Love was. It was THE mega hit of the summer of 2003, basically akin to how huge Espresso was, only five times more iconic because Beyonce was EVERYWHERE during that time

They can't orchestrate things to align in a timely manner for the current era, and half the time do not care for things to align, but they're incorporating the visuals that are slated for another 3-4 years NOW? 
 

I can't take ppl trying to decode something we have to piece together for half a decade anymore. Mainly because they're going to ruin the visual experience for ppl when things don't line up with these elaborate ideas and concepts. Especially when the clues they use are not even part of the visuals. Enjoy the tour and wait for the next one!

I mean, imagine the following:

 

A trilogy is planned.

Music is recorded.

Ivy Park drops are planned accordingly together with Adidas.

Dates are locked in.

MVs are shot / a film is shot.

Vinyls are pressed.

SB is booked.

 

Here comes Beyonce, changing the order of the album release, thus messing up the scheduling.

Here comes Beyonce deciding to give each album an individual tour 

Here comes Beyonce spontaneously deciding to include new songs (for instance Ya Ya) last minute.

 

 

Dont be too hard on Team Parkwood when a lot of the Chaos CLEARLY comes from Beyonce. And to be clear: not all chaos was bad. Releasing Renaissance during COVID was an incredibly wise move + CC also feels much more fitting now with its inherent critiques towards US American Society. But these decisions came with a price.

That was my first time even seeing her reference Green Light. I thought the issue was always 1 Thing vs CIL, which again never made sense with the timeline. But Green Light produced by…Pharrell and not Rich Harrison? Why was there ever a connection between Green Light and Amerie?

Green Light just seems to get singled out and used a lot as the example of Bey "stealing" from Amerie for some reason. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

If she had released a truly compelling visual for Renaissance between the album release and start of the tour the album would be seeing Lemonade type of reverence now. I have no doubt about it in my mind.

 

Say what you want but holding visuals off was a great mistake. The trade off for whatever credibility she gained for 'no visual needed' or releasing something altered at the end of the 3 acts was not worth it.

I think more than anything, it's fun to make interpretations of her work. Especially after being a fan since the beginning—the "RENAISSANCE" era really made me look at her artistry differently than I did after the self-titled era and even "LEMONADE."
