The ones for Cowboy Carter are a reference to Willie Nelson tho, it's part of the aesthetic. Specially the one from the cover: she does her own spin of his braids and his smoking. I don't mind it tbh.

The only thing that shocks me is when she drinks while touring. Her voice stays so consistent but alcohol is so detrimental to the health of the vocal folds. It blows my mind how she's been so consistent through the years.

 

Even in albums prior, there's no way there were no substances used when creating songs like No Angel or even Kitty Kat

Someone did a deep dive on REN and CC lyrics and the consistent themes of her battling something and potentially coping with drugs and alcohol a little more. It's especially prevalent on tracks with the Dream and I imagine out of all her collaborators they create in person together/sharing her personal struggles etc.

This. The Beyonce Experience is her best tour. Great combo of vocals and choreography and she just raw dog energy to her. To me that was peak Beyonce.

actually yes.

as much i would love sweet dreams to be the opener and as much as I love deja vu, she made the right decision with cil. It was a lot of trial and error but she got it right just in time, too bad she butchered the tour with that weak ass edit, evem she edited out the foot steps sound effect from the intro just to make it shorter, i hate her.

Right. I haven't bought anything from this album because I hate incomplete albums and I like YA YA too much (plus I think the rollout was a disgrace). If there are even a few thousand people like me in the same boat then  no wonder they aren't being touched

DIL is good but for hardcore fans tbh

The Beyoncé Experience absolutely is her best tour. 

I wonder if Beyoncé got the ick the first time Jay said "Unicorn is the uniform you put on" 

I can tell she was kind of vocally fatigued during DIL at one of my shows, no wonder she doesn't do more than 50 dates anymore if she has to sing for 3 hrs. 

 

Rennie was my fav tour because it felt like a celebration, but FWT was technically better.

I still can't believe a professional at the top of the game for 25 years had such a bad rollout. When all is said and done, I may regret not buying the standard vinyl because my Beyince copy won't match the other two but with the way things are going they'll still be available when act iii comes out.  

 

If she redeems herself with the final rollout I'll bite the bullet but if act iii comes and goes the same way I'm good

this remix of 'Countdown' is still giving me my eternal life.  I wish Mother never messed her knees up during the IAWT. Imagine her actually vouging on the RWT. 

 

'Countdown' is also one of her most underrated tracks. That opening scale needs to be inducted into the Natural Museum of History.

There's only one other co-writer and if you listen to her work it's lyrically quite similar so she probably wrote most if not all of it. 

That said, she worked on this during the pandemic. I think the song is about coming to terms with your mortality and you could even interpret it as a song about how she's slowing her career down to enjoy her loved ones while she and they are still around. 

 

I personally don't think it has anything to do with her struggling with drugs or alcohol. You never know, but I don't see it.
