If only. They kinda missed out on not pre taping her doing a video for the screens. she prob wouldn't though.

To be honest, if she really wanted it, she could release the visuals for CC during the campaign period, with a big rollout, and it would be her best shot she's had

That's what I thought for REN. I don't think she is winning anything this round. Country ain't giving her anything. Kinda crazy how she is ruining each era by her own doing. I still think people are afraid to tell her some truths. REN could've been bigger and CC could've had a cute era. I don't see the point in releasing a movie years after the album release and the tour being over. :deadbanana2:

If #she released Drunk In Love Dubai version the same day it went viral how many streams do you think it'd have by now? Would it have surpassed Cuffhit? :gaycat3:

Aromatech for Beyoncé
14 March 2016
UK - Beyoncé's recent USA tour included the innovative idea of 'aroma-ising' audience areas by use of 'Aromatech' systems from the UK's Effects Company. Specified by Justin Collie of Los Angeles / New York based design team Artfag, the idea was to fill the arena along the 'parade route' with a noticeable essence to indicate the artist's arrival.
The Effects Company's Martin Blake explains: "Artfag designed the system with multiple machines hanging from the trussing, with Ducting Adaptors attached to direct the airflow downwards, coupled with numerous machines at floor-level. The complete system was DMX-controlled from the main desk via Aromatech DMX Modules." Blake added: "The Effects Company originally supplied a selection of essences and the final essence chosen by Beyoncé was 'Musk' - as it was not specifically male or female."

I think the most complicated decision is where to place the album.

They'll submit it to country in the same way Renaissance was submitted to Dance/Electronic. The difference is that this year most voters will either vote for Wallen or Shaboozy. She'll be shut out completely and she won't even have a best music film grammy to compete for (unless she submits Renaissance? But idek if that's even eligible if it's only been shown in cinemas)

edit: Renaissance is eligible but it'll undoubtedly still go to the Eras tour film (even if its a lesser release). Bey's only hope now is Texas winning SOTY.

Renaissance Film is elegible, yes.

I don't know if she would risk submitting the album to Country after what happened with Daddy Lessons, maybe it's better to send it to Pop Vocal Album like The Gift and secure the nomination. :michael:

I could see submitting:

Country Solo, Country Song: 16 Carriages or Texas Hold Em

Country Duo/Group: Blackbiird or II Most Wanted

Pop Solo: Texas or Bodyguard

Pop Duo/Group: II Most Wanted or Leviis Jeans

AOTY: Cowboy Carter

ROTY/SOTY: Texas

Country/Pop/Americana? Album: Cowboy Carter

Americana Performance: Ameriican Requiem

R&B Song/Performance: Tyrant?

Melodic Rap Performance: Sweet Honey Buckiin? Texas Pony Up?

Music Film: Renaissance Film

I don't know how to classify some of the songs (Ya Ya?) but she could cover a lot of categories if she stretches it a bit. She might even send something to Rock.

Agree with all of this apart from the whole submitting to country thing. I think the whole point of this trilogy is to reclaim genres, and she'd rather be snubbed in the country album category than win under a pop one. If she submits to anything other than country after her whole been country campaign then she undermines the entire project

Pretty much agree with most of these.

I do wonder though if the tactical categorization of CC as "Pop" - which would put it up against the Becky releases from general field darlings like Taylor, Billie etc - impacts its win rate in Pop AND its general field potential.

I say that to say, with Pop being as all-encompassing as it is, Bey losing out to a Billie or Taylor in Pop categories almost certainly impedes her chances in general field categories where she will be up against them again. Logically (more on that in a sec), it's hard to see how a release can lose out in niche categories (to certain competition) then somehow **miraculously** win against the same competition in general field. It's not impossible but is definitely improbable.

The Grammys thrives on both its unpredictability and its staunch commitment to upholding the old guard, so they are willing to both adhere to logic and then totally disregard it at will. Sadly this so far has yet to ever benefit Bey. So, we'll see.

IMO, like you intimated, it'd be smart for her to use savvy workarounds in the album categories (like targeting Americana instead of Pop) to ensure CC has its own unobstructed win narrative heading into the showdowns in AOTY. Because losing in Pop (as sadly feels likely, given the competition) would let us know way before the show wraps that she almost certainly hasn't won AOTY. Whereas, as seen with Jon Batiste's random af AOTY win, he won big in his niche categories and then snuck in as a dark horse for AOTY.

Sidebar: before the "Who cares about the Grammys brigade" swoop in...the answer to that question is: Bey! LMAO. Bey, for whatever reason, cares.

Very aware of their BS and actually would prefer that after the Rennie snub she didn't submit at all. But, like her, I'm not that disconnected from things to know that - BS or no BS - the Grammys are still the "Grammys". So until either another show comes along and takes its clout or artists like Bey make a point of sticking their middle finger up at em, then it's a case of "we go again".

With the songs, yes. Country categories would make sense. Because either a win or snub adds to the overall narrative one way or the other.

But album categories are tricky.

Yes, the bulk of CC is Country. But, IMO, it's more a case of the music being dipped in Country sauce than being drenched in it. Because it gets kinda tricky when factoring in songs like Tyrant, Ya Ya, and Sweet Honey.

On a random but related note, it will really interesting to see how and where Shaboozey places with A Bar Song. It could inform a lot of Bey's placements...and impact some of her wins too (either which way).

when CC becomes her first studio album to not win a single Grammy :rip:

Nominations/Wins

  1. DIL (5/6)
  2. B'Day (1/6)
  3. IASF (5/10)
  4. 4 (1/2)
  5. BEYONCÉ (3/5)
  6. Lemonade (2/9)
  7. Renaissance (4/7)

Cowboy Carter is not the front-runner in any category imo.

Not really, she literally said its not a country album for a reason. She will send songs to country genre but her album will be nominated in the Americana genre. Also you mentioned wallen....the grammys don't like wallen at all.

Shes not submitting CC in pop album category...its gonna be in Americana. The grammys will put that album in there

Fortunately that won't happen.
