Not this. Let me hope they're just doing a few cute lines and moving on. We don't need another 98-OUT after a multi week #1

  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

I saw the trailer and immediately cackled and thought of the meltdowns happening in this thread. :lmao: Tbh, with Blue in this one, I can see her doing more promo as they'll be doing it together.

I'm here for another Gift, as it's a f*cking incredible album. :michael:

actually makes more sense now if the visuals of act 1 & 2 is actually coming together sometime before december, then act 3 + its visuals in 2026, especially if we actually get another the gift or at least a couple songs

another lion king movie being announced before the visuals like you really can't make this up

YES! Loving The Lion King reveal.

I legit love that every now and again Bey will properly gag me. Because I thought she and Disney were done, not to mention the slight air of "ugh" that seems to trail The Gift/BIK.

That said, quickly learning to expect the bare minimum. So, bracing for a few lines in the film and Bey leveraging her involvement towards giving Blue her own shine...which is fair.

At most, I could see Bey doing a one-off song for the Oscar-potential of it all.

At the same time, I can't help but let my excitement run wild. Because I am TOTALLY here for The Gift Part 2 (The Promoted Edition). Conceptually at least, as I never was here for the original title. Didn't we hear she was soliciting Afrobeat songs again and a lot of us rolled our eyes because we hadn't even got to Act 2 yet? Maybe just maybe...it could be something.

If they can pull it off neater and in a more impactful way, preferably with the music **IN** the actual film, it would be pretty cool.

If not a new project, I'd even take them incorporating iconic songs like Bigger, Water, and Find Your Way Back into the new movie. Their hands aren't as tied this time around as it's a new story, so they have more wiggle room.

It's interesting because for a couple of years people have been saying "The Gift era was so under-appreciated", "we didn't show it enough love at the time" but people's reactions now are showing that they never truly meant it.

:clack:

Y'all are never satisfied with this woman and at this point go stan someone else. Last I recall y'all wanted her to release more albums/content frequently to help with her streaming so what's the issue? I doubt she'll make her trilogy attached to a Lion king movie so this potential soundtrack album will just be a side project.

Most of y'all are just afraid that it might bomb commercial like the gift. A bunch of success Stans. But I doubt it will be because Beyoncé has a stronger presence in the music consumption space vs the time she released the gift and EIL.

Anika Noni Rose is in this! Somebody get Jhud a screaming lion so we can have our Dreamgirls 2.0 reunion!

lol at her Instagram stories…Cecred and the Lion King.

Good for Blue though, snatch those coins now.

SIDEBAR:

As one of the Base's most unashamed Chart Hive, I got to say that some of y'all aren't beating the allegations of being "success-hungry-fans-moonlighting-as-art-not-charts" lol. Because y'all are not about to sit up here and complain about the potential of more Afrobeats music (which sonically is WAY more aligned to Bey's usual offering) and yet open-arm embrace her Country album (which is brilliant, but worlds away from her mainstay).

IMO, as is the norm in stan land, there is a willful embrace of anything that is "successful" and thus toutable as a "receipt" when dueling with rival stan groups. And a "brush under the rug" mentality when it comes to music that underperforms/flops (e.g. like The Gift).

I will say this until the end of time, The Gift remains one of the best things she ever has done musically and the sole room for improvement is if it were expanded into a full-fledged solo album. For stans of End of Time and RTW, it's essentially the Afrobeats album we were promised would be 4 (which itself still ended up being her best album til Rennie).

BIK, as of now, is her hands-down best visual too.

The only thing throwing me about the potential of another Gift-like project is the timeline. It throws the "Acts" thing off, as there's no way any of the Acts will be tied to an external film.

The trailer looks good to me, why the negativity? I know it's because of streaming numbers. Her streaming power is much better now than post-Lemonade/pre-The Gift. And her releasing this just in time for TG to hit 1B streams

Ps: I'm listening to Spirit right now. Brings back so much memories to 2019.

so happy that beyoncé is now attached to disney's future box office bomb with a score of 23% on rottentomatoes

:suburban:

This one particular Britney's stan is going to call this her 11th studio album.

I love the gift... top 4 albums for me but I didn't expect or really need another Lion King film. This is coming from someone who loved Lion King more than anything as a kid.

there should be no side projects when you're actively in the middle of a solo era, especially not when you can't even focus on the albums you just released…

i don't think success stans stan a 40 year old semi-legacy act who bombed for half a decade straight with her last side projects :deadbanana4:

wild thought but maybe some of us don't want this bc a) no one wanted the first one and b) we're yet to get anything, besides being scammed, for the album she released last month

did you forget the discourse around the gift era? how casual listeners found it inaccessible and said she took herself too seriously, how Africans themselves declared she was attempting to appropriate their culture, how her haters called her "mama Africa"…it was not the romantic time to be a hive like renaissance. returning to that discourse is exhausting and that's why people are not looking forward to it.

Black is king is visually stunning, but its storyline is mid at best (it would've been better with dialogue) and her rehashing the lemonade formula did not wow anyone. I'm assuming she took lessons from that and that's why this trilogy film is going to be such a huge undertaking.

if she did release the gift part ii it would probably be around the time of the film, and then she'd go on to tour that and CC next summer. Then no one is asking about act iii which will come in 2026.

the only way you could make this joke of an era even worse is by announcing OTR III and its accompanying album next week :rip: which at this rate will probably happen

a cryptic video is posted of just "act iii", that then flashes to "otr iii"

the visuals are actually the "coming never" film

Maybe some of us just don't want her attached to another PANNED and creatively bankrupt Disney movie.

I'm always here for new moosic though.

The negativity in here is soul crushing, god damn. I love The Gift so much, I'm super excited for what's to come.

I'm with you. TG gave us some of her best ballads and visuals and it was all swiftly dismissed and scoffed by so many. And people wonder why she's been so hesitant to release visuals/promote the same ever since, yet they're still acting like little ungrateful shits. Insufferable.
