I don't think people want mindless bops from Selena anymore. This, love on, in the dark all flopped even though In the dark is particularly excellent. She got her biggest success when she made a music that centered on the narrative around her and was meaningful to her story. I think that is the only way she can make waves with future music releases, it has to be actually meaningful.

As a massive fan - it's really not doing anything for her - its very faceless - and she is capable of Gosh-Tier music - Fetish , Perfect , ,Same Old Love, Me and The Rhythm,Loco etc. - Love Off - was a step in the right direction ,but also not as great. She needs to ATP - take a risk - although - there are career highlights on ISILYF.

I love the song, but don't think it had any chance at being a hit unfortunately.

Only Lose You To Love Me, Same Old Love and Heart Wants What It Wants were a success from that "meaningful" songs. LYLAS, Come and Get It, Naturally, Good For You, Hands To Myself and Kill Em With Kindness aren't meaningful to her life or at least her exposed life at all so

As someone who likes and often defends Selena & thinks she has a handful of excellent songs, this was simply terrible.

no i like rare, it has some bops on it and that minimal selena sound from revival, single soon really is just a bit low effort

Title was confusing. People saw it and assumed the song hadn't come out yet so they never tuned in and listened.

The song was recorder years before but then released in 2023 with a Benny Blanco production. Releasing it in 2023 after Calm Down and Rare was a mistake but overall it's a fun unserious bop.

It was a hit compared to all the other songs that came after "single soon"

From someone who released Good For You, Bad Liar & Fetish... it felt very flat.
