Becky G - 'BARAJA BENDITA'
So many interesting and valid chats going on here, and I agree with a lot of it, while I think her overall artist marketing is poor, because we don't - years into a career - know who Becky is an artist - which isn't great - she has - like her peers Austin Mahone, Pia Mia and Cody Simpson - never seemed to find a desticntive identiy musically - although out of them other than Cody and his surfer aesthetic has the best chance to change that. Colour me wrong, but this is her best album - and I would consider it an 8/10 - I've never ever felt like I would wanna revisit a Becky album ,but I've been since it has dropped - time will tell though. But I think there is definitely more of an identity here - she's definitely a Spanglish artist. But one of the best things she can do is EPA - everything - EPA is her best single overall Video,Production and Melody are stellar - but not the best from the album - which if she is going to have a long roll out is GREAT! another thing about EPA - the video - that's what sold me - and if she can keep that quality - going forward and drop the following singles, she could set herself up for re-peak. (One side note - this album has a 13 BANGING track album hidden in it - but luckily the highlights are HIGH) I think these have hit potential actually (really catchy, well written choruses or production that makes these hips wanna move): Mal Tiempo - Should've been release-day single - very Despechá coded CNTRL - If paired with AUTOMATICO as a double single - and a C**T music video could be an absolute collapse - the Ooo Ahh chant in CNTRL followed by the Ando, ando controlando and paired with those massive waves synths is just great work - why AUTOMTICO - It's so Britney-coded - Does it sample Gimme More?? and the post chorus Dime que me quieres ,Si quieres lo mismo que yo quiero - is so catchy - and the overall Britney chat would generate buzz Perreo Triste - BUT a remix with either Bad Bunny / Zion & Lennox / Arcángel - What in the Yo Voy is going on - that is such a club ready song for the latin market - Oh me oh my I actually think, Patrona was a GREAT single choice - just dropped at the wrong time - again - needed an EPA level video. When I say she needs to serve in the videos - think Midnight Sun, Saoko Papi and Leak It , level branding and visual strength. I rarely would fight for an album - Post C,XOXO lashings faced - but I am actually willing to stand by this one. Cause what the heck - she has bangers on this!

Becky G - 'BARAJA BENDITA'
Please do! I've been a fan since I've been like 15, she was in rotation with Pia Mia,Austin Mahone and Cody Simpson. So I know a lot of her back catalogue

Becky G - 'BARAJA BENDITA'
Been following her for a minute and a half - and there are many career highlights here! EPA - is a classic - That deserves what Shower got TBH! That video, the production, cover art and the song 10/10 actually! I will say - there is such a disconnect for me when she sings/raps in English - I do not know why - just doesn't hit the same. Highlights for me 2AM EPA Mal Tiemp CNTRL TQM/ILY AUTOMATICO PATRONA

Why does Miley Cyrus only have 2 Hot 100 #1's?
I think another thing to consider is the lack of pushing her music - or that's how it seems from our POV - and not following up with the correct singles, like some eras have GREAT single songs, but she follows them up oddly. Like, imagine Flowers - Jaded - Thousand Miles - Muddy - River (Or something to this effect) Sometimes the end of an era is not following through all the way - a lot of people don't have long eras or commit to it fully anymore, regardless of performance - a great example of fully giving the era life from beginning till end to see later success is C,XOXO.

Better discography: Tinashe vs Charli xcx
Terrible example, I know! I couldn't think off the top of my head - But Victoria / Banks / Doja / Jae etc - R&B/Pop/Alternative/Hip Hop crossover artists

Better discography: Tinashe vs Charli xcx
Not sure you can compare apples and oranges. They both have stellar discographies for different reasons. I would think this would be better if you paired it with an artist in the same realm sonically. Charli and Kim/Slayyyter or Tinashe and Mariah The Scientist. But that being said. TINASHE for me,and I love Charli - I just visit Tinashe more - especially her mixtapes.

Selena's "Single Soon" - what went wrong?
As a massive fan - it's really not doing anything for her - its very faceless - and she is capable of Gosh-Tier music - Fetish , Perfect , ,Same Old Love, Me and The Rhythm,Loco etc. - Love Off - was a step in the right direction ,but also not as great. She needs to ATP - take a risk - although - there are career highlights on ISILYF.

Tyla - 'A*POP'
Selfish should be the next single. Like the hit is right there!!!!

Katy Perry - "Watch It Burn"
Crazy thing about Katy to me is that she is capable of making Pop Gems post Bonnie McQueen and Puke. Look at Harleys, NRO, Tucked (Which should've had a Dua remix FFS), All The Love - it's possible. Get in the studio with Zedd, Oscar Holiter,Luka Kloser,Elvira, Oscar Gorres , Mike Will Made It, Savan , Duke Dumont and Martin if she doesn't wanna hit up Bonnie - That line up alone will produce music that is a bit more current and force her to push outside of what she's doing currently. However, I fear her options are limited in terms of producers. I don't think this Justin / The Box Pivot is gonna help in the long term - she is so far removed from that Katy publicly. UNLESS - she pushes further to Thinking Of You Katy// Ur so Slay Katy. Collabs I would say, Rose, Jennie , Iggy, Doechii, Doja, Dua and Troye (in that range of people) Also music that is specifically about her life, with specific life references. Her music now is so impersonal - Watch it Burn was a return to form. Public perception is chai in the US, pivot to global appeal - Brazil loves her - Do collabs with Pablo, Urius and Davi Sabbag. Another thing, I love her ,but sometimes her interviews COOK her alive. FFS - when asked about Puke - a simple I F****d Up would made people love and respect her so much, sigh. People like artists today because of how imperfect they are // look at Charli as a prime example.

Tove Lo - "DNH"
As a fellow Scorpio ,this makes sense. It's rare to see a Scorpio be extremely vulnerable in any sense. This is on brand. Praying we get another Grapefruit or Passion…even Bikini God!

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
I love when albums keep moving musically. This does that. It builds a journey tbh. This is her most instant for me post T,UN.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Like I Do - is the Cr*ck version of God is a Woman and it's sooooooo good after Warning Signs wow!

Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez & Becky G - "Te Olvido (La La)"
it's a lot more chilled that what I thought they would deliver. Considering they are capable of a massive Latin/Pop/Spanglish crossover hit. But this is a chilled buzz and that's cute too.
- Artists who flopped in the 2010s but would've been successful in the 2020s

Is the industry too quick to anoint black pop stars?
😭😭😭😭 I know. Sadly. Still love her tho.

Is the industry too quick to anoint black pop stars?
Cause no one cares lol. It's sad,but that's the LITERAL truth. Pop is deemed a white people genre - especially amongst women. Tinashe could drop Super Love and they will still call it R&B because of the colour of her skin. And she's light skin. Pop can't digest black/POC women for some reason - not easily. For example Bree Runway is a POPSTAR. Who has so much talent and potential. Where is Bree???? To the general public a black female pop star doesn't exist outside of Beyoncé//Rihanna. That's what they've allowed and deem enough for "us" I mean billboard called Raye an R&B artist ffs. for the amount of Kesha,Katy,Gaga,Britney,Xtina,Demi,Selena, and Mileys we have one Beyoncé and one Rihanna. on top of that - it's like AHS it's like there can be only one supreme at a time. i think what makes it worse is the pivot off of black culture - I love Tate - but - you can hear the Ying Yang Twins / Timbaland / Danja / Ester Dean influence all over Sports Car. And they will never give those artists the white package - black artists dont get their flowers outside awards, write ups and conversations. If we acknowledge and award them - they will shut up - about not being pushed. This is such a nuanced conversation - I can't type everything - but I hope that what I'm saying is being translated. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that has a HUGE part to play in why we see lots of false starts. The only true push I've seen that's stuck is Doja.and even she is being faded out despite having an extremely successful pop album, pop hits and great pop record with Vie. "wE dOnT kNOW hOW to mARKET you."
