Why did most new pop girls cover Katy Perry in their rise to fame?
teenage dream singles are modern, intergenerational classics at this point. ofc all kinds of age demographics and generations might be listening but they really reasonate with teenagers and young adults from every gen. and most pop girls, or well, afaik, start their careers pretty young so they're good songs to perform and also goes well with your set i guess, when it's songs about youth, love / heartbreak, etc at a young age. idk, maybe i'm reading too much into it. i think another factors is also one generation from one decade always looks back on and adores / receives the previous decade's music with love. the girls debuting in the late 2010s and in the 2020s (in their teens / early to mid 20s) would have grown up with TD and other 2010s music / were teens or children during the time TD came out. so nostalgia is a factor and then again, the fact that the TD singles are standouts cause most of them have aged really well and have had relevancy beyond the decade they were released in. even (most of) the people who are children / teens / growing into 20s this decade (2020s) have listened to and like the TD songs / singles.

idk if it's epic musically or not (as in, in terms of the song) but when Ariana returned after nearly a year with no tears left to cry and the song opened: right now i'm in a state of miiind / i wanna be in like all the tiii-ime was a moment to me / we all knew where we were

when did the transition to "new" atrl happen?- Iggy Azalea stuns in commercial for first time in years
lookin good- Victoria Justice outsold Britney Spears, so why did SHE become the flop?
good clickbait- Rihanna has 7 songs on Billboard Global 200; the most by any artist this week
- Victoria Justice outsold Britney Spears, so why did SHE become the flop?
victoria justice is, respectfully, one of the big teen idols of the 2010s and one of the biggest from nickelodeon, but britney spears is exponentially bigger in terms of commerciality, recognition, and fame. her peak / momentum at the time was way bigger. she wasn't only the most famous pop star / pop girl at her peak, but also one of the most famous humans, overall (i think?). like, even outside of the pop sphere. and doesn't she have a few of the best-selling albums of the 21st century + massive cultural impact and many artists citing her as an influence? these two cannot be compared, tbh.- Victoria Justice outsold Britney Spears, so why did SHE become the flop?
no offense but this comparison is weird? aren't they from 2 completely different eras? britney hit global stardom around late 90s—early 2000s while victoria came into fame around late 2000s / early 2010s?- Disney star Carla Jeffery passed away at 33 years old
very young; RIP- Dua Lipa - The most prolific performer of her gen?
