Roommates is definitely more crisp (?) from a production standpoint, but Mature feels more layered to me. I love how dreamy and ethereal the verses sound, the chorus has the fun guitar licks, and then the strings making it all sound so grand. But I agree Roommates is an even better showcase for her vocally, she sounds amazing and really nails the yearning

I hope we get more songs exploring her dreams, friendships, loss/grief, body image/aging in the public eye. So much I wanna hear her perspective on tbh. Maybe a song about her believing Matt was "taken" on that FB marketplace pick-up. She can call it Liam Neeson (Goodbye Matthew) and it will sample/interpolate Goodbye to You by Michelle Branch

Melatonin alone deserves to be a global career-defining smash with multiple Grammys The whole project is such a blast, it's so eclectic and I'm finding new hooks and sounds to appreciate with almost every listen. More recently I'm really appreciating the vulnerable lyricism in Empty Stadium, I'd Rather Be Alone, and Heavy Weight. Love this album

Mature makes a lot of sense, they described it as the "north star" of the record and I definitely agree with that. I truly believe Mature is an instant classic in her discography and will age really well

I'd love it if they released one for every song, especially since we're in the Grammy voting period. I love that her production contributions are telling Matt what she hates so she can make him remove them our interior design queen, she just wants to write a good lyric and sing it over a catchy melody. The bridge lyric on Mature feels so Matthew/Winnetka coded for whatever reason, it's so great. Roommates on the other hand feels mostly like Hilary's pen, also great I'd love to hear her do more covers, not on a setlist or anything, just like special content for us. I know she loves pop and keeps up with all the new girlies (and Sombr ) so it'd be awesome to hear her take on something she vibes with
