they were both successful. They went platinum and millenials immediately know the songs when they hear them

But it's hits overseas. Her signatures. Let's hope DMF won't misunderstand my comment and delusionally think Xtina is a global icon. No. 😆😆😆😆🙏🙏🙏🙏

It's weird because Hurt was actually a hit out of US, even Candyman did decently overseas, it's like US was just kinda done with her.

feels like weirdly low peaks, especially Candyman. it was all over the radio at that time

They did well what are you on Kanye?

Hurt is her biggest hit in Europe and Candyman was also a big hit WW. The singles peaked very well in the US for songs that couldn't reach the top 50 on overall radio (Candyman)

They tried to make Hurt her Beautiful winter ballad smash but it backfired a bit

But Hurt still peaked at #19 and charted for 20 weeks and would've made top 75 year end if it wasn't split between years

Candyman was a bop but too loud for US radio - the horns, and reheated Fergalicious nachos

Candyman was pretty big in U.K. & Ireland. I remember hearing it everywhere.

Hurt is amazing.

The ballad as a second single in the US market was less of a thing during that time, so that didn't help "Hurt" even though it performed decently. I think it would've done better as a third single.

"Candyman" was a bit too retro, so she should've released "Slow Down Baby" instead.

ATRL thinking US billboard hot 100 is the only chart that matters seems pretty standard

It still shocks me that Candyman tanked globally because it was genuinely a household hit in Australia. Like it's on the same level as Genie and Beautiful in terms of X-Tina song recognition

I remember Candyman being in the LG Chocolate phone commercial dies Truly an unavoidable song, it was everywhere

Idk but legend X is about to be in my most played this year because ATRL keeps reminding me about her and making me crave her music with all these threads

Candyman felt everywhere at the time, and I say that as someone that didn't really listen to music as a kid in the US. Stripped kind of had the same issue though? Dirrty peaked low and is arguably her most iconic video and one of her most remembered moments
