Detroit, Michigan becomes first US city entirely represented by DSA in US House
This is unfortunately not happening in LA any time soon. Liberalism is alive and well politically and socially here. Nithya Raman is ready to serve more corporate interests and inflate police budgets. DSA are weaklings here and the cultural and class segregation in this city keeps the left from growing any stronger.

Was Charmbracelet that bad or was it bad because it came after Butterfly?
Some of the people in here throwing the word "objectively" around over opinions in media... open the schools. Objective = Mariah Carey releases music, Katy Perry does too. Subjective = Mariah's 5 octave vocal range is subjectively the greatest thing I've ever heard, while Katy Perry sounds like a cat straining on all 3 of her octaves. Subjectively, this is a fantastic album and in my top 3 along with Butterfly and TEOM. The critics (especially that one Rolling Stone critic and some other one) had issues with her for some odd reason and they really took it out on her during this era. Some of her best material clearly came from her feelings for Derek Jeter. I just wish Charmbracelet would get a proper remaster, there are a couple of issues I have with production, namely Clown since it's my fave.

Perez Hilton self-harms and has mental breakdown on TikTok live, police at his house
Just saw the video, he really is slicing his whole body, looked like a scene from Saw or something. Hope his kids are okay. Perez has not had influence on anything since like 2009 and is largely some irrelevant white gay that hasn't been a threat to anyone but himself since then. This is no way to go.

Has any pop star ever bounced back from a trajectory like this?
People in here saying Mariah Carey being disrespectful and clearly have no knowledge of her history... it took Mariah a decade, 7 albums, and 15 #1's to start flopping, and she was ACTIVELY being sabotaged by an industry giant. She only flopped for two albums between 2001 and 2005 (and Charmbracelet is a great album). Her latest album, (35 years into her career) still sold more in physical sales than Katy's did in 2025 Katy is just her own worst enemy and she doesn't have the range or likeability factor to come back from this.

How are people still stanning Nicki Minaj?
Trump is not a "once in a lifetime" specific kind of evil. That's the issue with liberals, they think that Trump is any worse than most of the republicans on his side, or than the democrats that don't fight for their working class constituents that voted them into office. Hatred and violence also mean voting against healthcare for all, against increasing minimum wages, lobbying for higher police budgets instead of public infrastructure, environmental protections that don't favor corporations, etc. which is exactly what democrats like Harris, the Clintons, Obama, etc. have all done in their lifetimes - not to mention the willingness to continue funding a genocide. It took billionaire funding for Obama's re-election to push him and his administration to fight for marriage equality. You should absolutely view all of these people as equally evil, not one better than the other. OP - Nicki Minaj is an idiot and whatever she puts out next will likely be AI slop.

Becky G - 'BARAJA BENDITA'
She kind of messed up her brand by being so vocal about sticking by her man through the cheating scandal on that damn Call Her Daddy podcast. It's a shame because this album is shaping up to be much better overall than Esquemas now that she's returning to pop-reggaeton. I think she's finally found her footing artistically in this lane with more spanglish, genre mixing sounds. Hopefully this takes off because Latin America could use a much better female mexican-american representing us right now.

Criminal and Judas win at the end but why?
They both simply went viral during the streaming era and have held up on playlists - the algorithm exposure is really powerful, and both are on par quality wise with a lot of their best work.

Yet another Britney fragrance is being released, 10 y.o. outtake used for marketing
I just know her family would have used AI to release more albums and products if they still had control over her.

Willie Nelson urges Americans to fight the construction of data centers.
You know what's a better way to increase tax revenue? Actually fairly taxing those that earn much more than most of the population (that they also likely underpay if they're business owners or investors), and if you think we need to "win" an AI race against China, you're already deeply misguided and have gotten sucked into fearmongering tactics.

The Pussycat Dolls
What are the chances of a Doll Domination Deluxe (or 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever other edition) gets released on vinyl? I swear, these labels need to start outsourcing and hiring Brazilian fans for these things. Those vinyl mockups I see all the time on IG are always so much better than what these US companies are designing.

The Romantic already out of top 50 after 20 weeks. What went wrong?
I'm not into Bruno like that so I have no idea what Leave The Door Open even is, this just doesn't seem like such a huge failure, especially when most stans would like to see their faves do these numbers. And 16 years is not a huge difference from 20, especially when the average pop star's popularity spans 5-10 years on average
