Confessions II departs the Billboard 200 after 5 weeks
This project's been a huge success all the way around, imo, and those first three weeks of sales were incredible. That far overshadows the fact that the album spent 5 weeks in the Billboard 200, which is still a few more weeks than most of her contemporaries (and yes, Mariah).

Why did Hurt and Candyman fail as singles?
The ballad as a second single in the US market was less of a thing during that time, so that didn't help "Hurt" even though it performed decently. I think it would've done better as a third single. "Candyman" was a bit too retro, so she should've released "Slow Down Baby" instead.
