The music isn't good, and worse, is boring and not what her fans want.

I love most of Charli's music but I honestly think she put the albatross of Brat around her neck more than anyone else, and thus felt she had to hard pivot sharper and more intensely than she actually needed to

It was obviously a very successful era and her biggest ever, but it wasn't so massive that she was doomed to live in its shadow. She self-mythologized it a bit too much in her head and combined that with her self-destructive tendencies and intense need to be "not a normie" to the point she is making the kind of music no one wants from Charli, and isn't even super artistic or experimental either as a trade off.

I'm not saying she should've made a Brat 2.0, but she could've just stayed in that same sonic lane for one more album and had better commercial success AND I bet the music would be better

Not really tbh. I've been following her since Sucker era and I don't really like Rock Music. SS26 is better but even then, not that spectacular compared to the past few albums.

This should've been the blueprint for the new era

She isn't going for success / charting, Katy was lol.

The music she releasing right now is what she wants to release and is very in touch with where her life is.

She's an artist which may be hard for some people to comprehend that some big singers still do it for the music not the bling.

Also brat as an era is one of the biggest of all-time she had her "main pop girl" moment that went for 2-3 years she doesn't really care anymore if the radio is playing it or not…

It's actually insane she's releasing these horrible, half baked songs as her first singles back after she FINALLY got the attention and popularity she always strived so hard to achieve

Like this is the moment to capitalize on all that BRAT did for her and she could easily be getting hits and acclaim if she put out anything remotely similar to the style of BRAT/CRASH/Pop 2 … but instead we get this slop ??

I mean she might as well have even just thrown xcx world out and she would surely get a hit album and finally come to my party could be the smash hit it was destined to always be ugh

Nothing really went wrong, brat just smashed when she didn't expect it to after trying to appeal to the GP with crash and that didn't perform to expectation. She's just doing what she wants atm i feel. Nothing really "changed"
