JIVE is Revived! RCA is relaunching the iconic label. 

The label that signed Britney Spears, Aaliyah, The Backstreet Boys, Usher, and *NSYNC during the peaks of their careers is back. 

JIVE is being relaunched as a standalone label, Sony Music's RCA announced today.  

This announcement has been a long time coming, more than a decade after RCA shut down JIVE, dissolving the label into RCA's roster following Sony's 2008 merger with BMG, the parent company of RCA. 

JIVE records is turning to a new page in their story, and they are returning with a mission – to honour their original legacy, whilst reimagining it for today's music audience.

They must be planning on releasing lots of unreleased material / new editions of classic albums for Britney, BSB, Aaliyah, and many more.

Also, the ultimate gag would be Britney releasing a new album under JIVE. Talk about a full circle moment

Imagine if all the artists that transitioned over to rca go back to jive

The budget they would give Britney for a new album would be huge

We will finally get an anniversary edition of baby one more time

Not sure what else they could do with oops I feel like opps 25 had everything unless theirs more in the vault

RCA is already doing that with their 20-25th anniversary re-editions, but maybe they can expand the budget for those type of releases

Isn't RCA basically dead

I remember as a kid Jive Records was THE place to be esp if you were a pop artist but the GP has mostly moved on from pop (mainly pop girls) tbh. Unless their focus will be rap or country, the two biggest genres dominating they'll flop. It's not 2000 anymore.

She could do the most incredible thing by starting her own label and having her own imprint with Jive/RCA. She would have FULL control over her catalogue too. I mean... BRITNEY. DO IT QUEEN. YOU DONT EVEN NEED TO WORK OR PUT OUT MUSIC, YOU COULD JUST MAKE CAKE OFF YOUR CATALOGUE. SOMEONE GET ME KNEE'S NUMBER, AND JIVE TOO.

Interesting

RCA is the worst record company. Every one of their artists has been mismanaged terribly at some point in their careers. Artists' success has been in spite of them, not because of them.

You can bet that RCA cronies are going to run this label so it will be no different there.
