  • an open relationship is not a real relationship.

open bc when I met my husband I was 22 (he was 30) and I still wanted to have lots of sex with other guys before settling down for one D only for the rest of my life

we're 27 and 35 now, and it still works for us chick1 it's all about open communication and knowing that, at some point, one (or both) of us might change their mind and we'll need to review where we're standing

Wow 22 is so young to get married

close,

but I was lucky enough to find my husband close to my thirties so I had a lot of time to be a *****

Open.

Human beings are not meant to be monogamous. It's not natural. Our nature is to breed and populate the earth. You can be as delusional as you want thinking your partner will be faithful. They won't.

Umm it's like asking Apple or mangoes preference ?

Well, mangoes are infinitely better.

Personally closed and monogamous. But polygamous or polyamorous can definitely work. Both depend on open and honest communication.

Closed. I acknowledge open works for some people but is not for me

Closed I don't believe in open relationships it never ends up working. Seen too many couple with open relationships and it falls apart after while. Relationships is more than just sex anyway.

closed

i have no ill will or judgement towards those who are in open relationships , at the end of the day it's not my business . however from my own perspective in my own life and experiences i have never seen an open relationship last . what ive seen of those i know irl that have been in them is its usually a 'last resort' to keep the relationship afloat . is that true for every open relationship ? no . which is why im talking about my own interactions with couples in open relationships only , i literally made that clear in my post so don't say that im being unfair im talking about MY lived experience and what ive seen . i also know myself and i know that i am way too much of a jealous person to be able to mentally thrive in an open relationship .

Closed. Who the hell has time for an open relationship on top of maintaining a relationship, work, family, general life etc.

there's always some imbalance in open relationships too.

Mangoes are weird

I view opening a relationship as a complete disregard to trust, partnership and connection. Maybe you weren't as committed in the first place, maybe your connection was purely sexual and the eventual relationship challenges spooked you or, as I've seen in most cases, you wanna check out every fish in the pond without losing what could be your "only" chance at love, which I don't think is respectful to the other person.

Open relationship is the key.

Sex is an experience you can do with different people. And its just a part of life.

But try to keep it close for like 6 month 1 year before open. You need a building trust period before open your relationship.

Closed, during my hoe phase of the not dicks felt that radically different from person to person so I don't know why I'd waste sexual energy I could be expending towards my partner

Closed is more intimate imo, open relationship is basically just friends/roommates with benefits devil

Closed. I want to devote myself to a partner who wants to do the same in return; some things are better, for me, if they're only shared between each other.

I know it works for some people to be open. I know it's perfectly valid and healthy. But **** if I'm not soooo ******* tired of hearing that it's the only valid way to live and that humans "aren't meant to be monogamous" and that I'm being gay wrong by not wanting to participate and that everyone who ever lived is secretly a cheater and other such nonsense rip
