This album sounds like it will be elevated more by a live setting and it makes me bitter because I couldn't get tour tickets

Preface: Bruno is a great singer and entertainer.

Regarding this album:

It shows how artistically stuck he is. Every vocal decision he makes, hes done before. The arrangement is giving same same, the harmonies are same same, his range is same same and he doesnt explore any new melodies. Its giving artistically bankrupt. Heck even the songs structures are same same. Nothing original there.

What a nice easy listen this was.

The low standards in here . This is why he stays so mediocre you keep rewarding these low effort projects.

If any of the pop girl released this mid album. Yall would be having a field day.

He needs to come up with new sound. The retro sound is tired at this point. What happened to the evolution of an artist ?

His voice is so incredible on this record.

Something Serious and Risk It All are my favorites. I hope he leans more into that sound.

Yes there are retro elements to this, but it still has a distinctly different vibe from 24k Magic.

why wouldn't he commit to the sound from the opener... what a let down

I'm excited to listen to it once I'm back from work though from what I'm seeing a lot of people are saying it's Bruno on auto pilot? Some praise about it being a short and enjoyable album but lots of ppl seem to be saying it's also a lazy effort. I'm excited to judge it myself. Bruno usually delivers at least a solid four songs per record for me.

They can't separate songs from each other if it doesn't have a driving EDM beat that would be played at a gay club. Everything else sounds the same to them.

Yes, he sounds great. He always does. Yes, there is a crisp, smoothness to the production. There typically always is.

But there aren't real standouts. To the point that it makes the extremely mid I Just Might feel like the obvious single choice.

And while it may read like me saying there isn't much single potential (there isn't), but it's beyond that. It's boring, the lyrics across the album feel like "Hey ChatGPT, write me a Bruno Mars-like song". Even Risk It All, the lyrics are so basic and elementary, and monosyllabic.

I can appreciate the cohesion and spinkles of Latin vibes, but all it really does is glue together a pretty basic set of songs together.

Extremely disappointed.

It's a good Bruno Mars album

But I have concerns same as Showgirl

Your K-Pop idols need to sing like him first before you come after him. I can only count a few pop girls in my hand who can out-sing him, so don't even go there.

Risk It All is such an instant classic and a career's highlight

I wish the whole album follows that direction. Some of these songs giving Silk Sonic rejects

The album isn't bad, but I'm not impressed.

A big decline in quality from the Silk Sonic album, he should be continuing making very great albums, not something cute but easy listening.

Only On My Soul is the strong standout. But Risk It Out is cute...

Cha Cha Cha is still like the worst track on it or at least bottom 2. I'm not sure about Something Serious yet.

Maybe he needed it to let it cook more
