It's probably for the best that Civics is down right now seeing as my personal life is currently in meltdown mode

I guess I'm to parse out from the three or four subplots here that admin has decided new tech needs to be tested in beta than instituted before Civics can be relaunched.

At the heart of the debate appears to be bad faith equivalencies of antisemitism and antizionism with the Gwyneth thread being the trigger.

I'm getting Déjà vu to the fights on this exact topic and revisionist history to fit desired narratives between the editing team and owners at Wikipedia and between several mods at Reddit.

If the trigger was some form of advertiser reaching out too that would make sense since that was the motive for instituting the rule on sexual AVIs.

I can't say I'm frustrated since I'm not the least bit surprised. No better way to win out on discourse than by shutting it down altogether.

Forum seems to be split on wanting Civics to continue or not based on the responses here by about 60-40. Similar as to the news I tend to post. I mean, honestly, with the world melting down I just liked the community response to everything I've been trying to process but with little success and deep cynicism.

I'll be in Celebria in the meantime.

Didn't claim there was a connection. I know the owner (out of partially perceived spite) refused to transfer ownership and closed it. I'm referring to the incident you mentioned.

This was like two years ago so I don't remember the details, but basically I was arguing that I considered Islam to be a dangerous ideology for a progressive society, which Communion disagreed with (which is valid of course!), I don't think it was more than a four-post exchange. Well the next morning I woke up to Communion (or Sanctuary, his Popjustice alias) trying to paint me as some racist monster, claiming I had called Muslims as a whole a "barbaric, invasive horde of orks" (how does one even come up with this combination of words?), which of course was not at all what I had said, all of my posts had been directed at the ideology behind it, not the actual people. One could probably draw a parallel to the current "criticism of Zionism ≠ Anti-Semitism" debate.

More than anything, I was just shocked that someone who I probably still agree with on 90 % of political issues would go to such lengths to discredit me, and that definitely contributed to me hardly posting in Civics anymore. But at this point, it's really just water under the bridge. I'm still here, Communion is still here, only Popjustice is gone. And Civics lol.

You guys should be more aware of those things. I always get banned when I have a meltdown while on drugs or some sh even though my active wps are like 3 or 4. Like I missed the Genshin annual rating and some other rates because of things like that. Thank you
