  1. I took the day off after bawling over Dolly on my prior commute and now this UGH I'm exhausted.
  2. Some of these headlines are really overwhelming. People forget she was one of the first prominent donors to the Moderna vaccine and was instrumental in turning around Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where her properties employ roughly 60,000 people.
  3. There was a music industry poll done of thousands in the business such as stage hands that have worked for hundreds of artists sound crew, etc., and the resounding answer of everyone's favorite artist and sweetest cross generations and demographics was Dolly Parton. It wasn't even close. I don't have the link to provide, but it really speaks to what an incredible artist and person she was legends thrown around too much, but it really describes this woman well.
  4. You're assigning Cuban American mentality to all Latinos is literally the EXACT problem endless memos and thinkpieces have been written about as to the DNC's current problems with that demographic. And yes, it's inherently racist, even coming from a black person. I didn't save your quotes for instant receipts like many here for fights or debates like this but ascribing their thinking to folks like the culinary unions in Vegas made up largely of Latinos that happened to support Bernie in the primary just because you don't like their economic policy or thought they were brainwashed as you implied is part of the problem. @Communion bizarrely supported Jasmine on here but as yet another reminder for you, I never supported either and never ascribed an unfair benefit of the doubt regarding his Israel donors, her crypto lobbyists or the supposed comments Allred threw Talarico under the bus for. Since that he said he said will never be solved, we're left with who's to blame NOW for a divided base going forward to November - the guy who's trying to reconcile and the woman hellbent on not doing so. I suppose you'll say it's the centrist equivalent of progressives continually staying home nationally. I just can't wait until it's over. Whether Texas deserves their felon that will be entering office I won't unpack. Good luck.
  5. It won't but I do appreciate the optimism, particularly when it comes down to close enough margins that don't make it completely delusional.
  6. After coming back? Were they banned or did they just have a meltdown and self-imposed moratorium?
  7. Do we need to revisit your comments on Crockett's slave mentality quote and Latino men having it coming? You probably think your gaslighting's going to continue to work here. Thankfully it isn't.
  8. Homophobia can manifest outside of a religious basis. Lazy argument to suggest otherwise. Annoyed by the points I'm seeing here.
  9. Your gaslighting to folks here that the user (me) that's posted more here about Elon than probably anyone else isn't going to work. It was amusing but now exhausting you still think it will and try anyways. If you want to quote where I've said I had a problem here with Bluesky or direct URL postings be my guest. You can't because there is none. Until mobile forum postings work better on Bluesky I stick with the news break speed on X or as a URL reference that X tends to beat. Bluesky is also far from infallible due to its founding by ardent Zionists.
  10. Many have actually, but too many voters nationally and locally feel like it's now just a deliberate distraction from (or hypocrisy when compared to) a genocide they gaslight about or other larger existential crisis like climate change.
  11. Again, the circular arguments I keep seeing here since I joined this forum. Leftists' blind spot is that economic pitches will work on voters whose main motivation according to multiple studies that can't be tracked easily by polling is actually cultural resentment, manifesting in the culture wars, even if they die by a death of despair. The economic misfortune did not foster the cultural resentment - the latter was always going to be there regardless. Centrists' blind spot is to focus on the culture wars at the expense of any substantial enough change in economic policy because it would either hurt their bottom line or the lobbyists paying them.
  12. There's plenty of prior centrist members here who I respected because they actually made their arguments. Sure they fought for dozens of pages with @Communion , but they actually had points to deliver. All I've seen you do here is Molotov drive-by's with no follow-up. If that's not trolling I don't know what is.
  13. The only person I'm seeing not doing any grandstanding or ambulance chasing on the left or center at the moment AND trying to tackle the impossible task of uniting the various factions that are needed to win is Chris Van Hollen. But unfortunately he isn't running for anything or replacing anyone higher up in DC because he isn't a raging egomaniac like Shapiro and Newsom, riding on the coattails of his father like Beshear, getting swooned over by white wine Moms and Hasan Piker like Ossoff, locked down literally only New Hampshire and Iowa like carpetbagging McKinsey bot Buttigieg and locked black women but little else like Harris. There's also the AOC question who I keep seeing people insist here is running but actually seems to be smart enough to have taken in that in the Upper Midwest the culture wars actually do matter more for a lot of voters than their own economic misfortunes. Deflecting from that by mentioning Bernie's actually multiracial and multigenerational coalition disregards that it was an old white man delivering it in the first place.
  14. Jeffries and Schumer are convenient scapegoats for moderates to avoid being primaried and therefore aren't going anywhere. You deny the meeting with Kushner and take up the offer they made on going to Susie Wiles directly. That is how this **** works. It's not that ****ing hard. Kushner needs to be in jail or The Hague. If @on the line and the racist @LegaMyth want to continue trolling and making bad faith arguments you're welcome to but at its core, both are bad politicians. Hakeem either didn't know or didn't care about the optics of meeting Jared first. Or figured all trust with progressives was broken a long time ago so why bother. The gaslighting that this was a one-off can also go too. We can go back a year or two to his meetings with AI and crypto lobbyists but the list is long.
  15. I have to laugh at the usuals fighting here because the problems with Jeffries and Schumer are at ground zero of the problem with 2028. At the heart of the uproar over the Jared Kushner controversy is the realization that any significant enough policy change was never part of the plan but simply to change the window dressing. Coalition uniting is a vastly different project for the left than it is for the right because of what is motivating the various factions. What we'd already learned from the Liz Cheney debacle is that "be terrified enough of neo-fascism to settle for neoliberalism" no longer works for the Electoral College. Josh Shapiro and Gavin Newsom think that solely because it was a word salad woman delivering the above message that it didn't work and their version will, which will turn off a ton of urban millennials and Gen Z of color in Upper Midwest cities from turnout for anyone at all. Josh+Gavin will both bury Andy Beshear who will give a milquetoast version and bomb early as well as Buttigieg who's DOA. Jon Ossoff thinks that he can ride Hasan Piker's love affair and centerfold quality to get white wine Moms to convince working class Latino men that the machismo anti-trans culture wars don't matter which is all they have left as their economic prospects are dead, with his fans ignoring and gaslighting that Gavin and Josh won't try to bury him early for AIPAC and that the only skeletons in his closet are his voting record. The only hypothetical I'm entertaining at the moment is Josh and/or Gavin getting the nomination in which case I'm doing a write-in. Neither Kamala nor Andy is making it through the primaries, for entirely different reasons.
