As a gen z, i think that millenials are the best generation imo.

newer generations get the "privilege" of not having to act like super serious adults even after reaching an "adult" age, versus prior generations.

Grandparents from the 1940s could never get away acting this immature as adults back then.

then Boomers came and they get to act a little bit less serious that the previous generation, challenging the norm of what an adult should act like.

then Gen X comes and further shows that they get to act more immature than boomers (as adults).

Then we get to millennials. The generation that gets to have things like pokemon, anime, cartoons, pop culture be both part of their youth and adulthood, and society doesn't seem to require them to act as serious as boomers or Gen X had to act.

So now with Gen Z and Gen Alpha it gets awkward as millennials get the benefit of not having to act super serious as adults like prior generations, creating generational tension of what an adult is supposed to act like

My theory is that each subsequent generation will continue to be an even more "childish" / less serious version of the one before

Millennial are kinda the generation that still want to hold on to conservative values of a family, a mortgage, a car and a Labrador. They have awful taste in music too.

Gen Z are the most environmentally responsible and emotionally connected people. Great taste in music.

ppl forget that millennials made life easier for the younger generations. we had the luxury of traditional and non-traditional, then fought to make things more acceptable in society.

as a gen z i'll give it to millennials for early internet culture, establishment of LGBTQ+ rights to marriage and progressive social changes, and not voting Trump.

Overhated, their "cringe" aspects aren't that cringe and it's arguably their "worst trait"

Gen Z is also overhated though. This narrative that we're all conservative and useless misses the entire point of what's happening to Gen Z. Millennials will make the claim that they've "gone through the most" without acknowledging how Gen Z has never known a world without horror and despair… ever. 9/11 defined our entire lives with relentless disasters since then. We've never known peace. We don't see a future because we've hardly had a past. Desperately searching for a place in this world, while being beaten down for not being "as good" as the past generations and without any of the joys that past generations had.

That's where the "conservative Gen Z" comes from. Desperation to find a place and to find peace. That's why Gen Z is already swinging back hard and vote so erratically. We're nihilistic af but not as bad as people make us out to be. Gen Alpha will have an even tougher time and I hope Gen Z can find some sympathy for them.
