Maybe a year after that, I got a call and they asked me to mix the record, and I was like, "Do you want me to change it up, make it a little more crazy?" They were like, leave it alone. The record actually had Marilyn Manson drums on it. The toms were straight Marilyn Manson, metal rock drums. If you look at "Hip-Hop Star" and "Settle 4 U," they had more of a rock element to it. We looked at her like she's our Tina Turner, so that's what we were going for with the record.

I'm wishful thinking for this too but it'd be almost impossible to announce and ship physicals within the same week. We would've heard rumblings if they were being manufactured.

It's why physicals for Self-titled and Lemonade were released later.

Maybe the plan is to have physicals out for Black Friday/Christmas?

True. It's looking more and more likely that it's going to be a digital release only at first.

Which is extremely frustrating because it could've done well with physicals. As long as we get them eventually I guess.

im not sure how accurate that is. from what i understand when she reupped her deal with columbia in 2011, she was able to acquire her solo catalog masters thru a joint licensing deal with sony music

I swear we can make such a long list of her side giggery from back in the day. Those first 2 or 3 years of her solo career, she would show up to perform at the opening of an envelope lol. Us old school hive were truly spoiled and kept fed.

Something I've learned is to always look at the RIAA recertifications. Because people do not usually update the copyrights at the bottom of their albums on streaming platforms as often... the certifications are a good indication. Parkwood / Columbia appears on all of her recertifications.

Going off her old catalog: Haven't seen a Columbia Records ('Cadillac Records OST'), Columbia / Sony Music Entertainment (Dangerously In Love, I Am... Sasha Fierce), Music World / Columbia Records / Sony (The Fighting Temptations OST, Dreamgirls OST), Sony Music Urban ('B'Day), or MTV / Columbia / Sony (Carmen: A Hip-hopera) recertification in a long time.

I would absolutely be here for a jazz/soul/funk album!

I know we haven't heard her supposed "Rock" material (I have no doubt that it must be brilliant) but since I'm not a big fan of that genre, I'm just more inclined on the other idea.

2027 needs to hurry up.

When the reason behind all of Jay's performances this year is that he's laying the groundwork for the 2027 Super Bowl.

And there's no way Beyoncé wouldn't be part of a Jay Z Super Bowl Halftime Show.

And knowing her, she wouldn't let such a huge marketing opportunity pass by without promoting or dropping something new.

Aka act 3 launch in February 2027.
