Did you grow up listening to country music?
Being a black gay from the south, I, like Beyoncé, would also say I didn't grow up "listening" to country music but it was definitely played in my environments. I do love some classics from the genre. They aren't on any playlists but do get some streams from time to time when I'm feeling nostalgic.

I wasn't really clear in my initial post, but I didn't mean the entire 3 act project itself was a misstep - the handling and forward facing communication of it is, imo. There's too much confusion around it not to be labeled as such. Also feel like calling it a trilogy created an unofficial time frame - I may be in the minority but i thought we'd be wrapping up this trilogy by 2027, now it looks like it'll just be starting in '27. I have no complaints about the musical output (except that Morning Dew remix) just wish the messaging was more clear.

The 3 act project sounded good in theory, but I feel it was just too ambitious. Now it's become a bit of a mess and seems all over the place with no real direction. Seemingly a rare misstep for her. But I firmly believe her perfectionist nature is fully to blame here.

Madonna - 'CONFESSIONS II'
This is just my second full length Madonna album experience, the first being Ray of Light, and I'm actually blown away by this project. One Step Away, to me is like "classic" Madonna - in my top 3 of her discography up there with Bedtime Stories and Nothing Really Matters.

Jay Z faces backlash for collaborating with Target
Initially in the Beyonce base I was on the side of defending him since the boycott was ended months before this announce…however, like one of the tweets in the OP said, you start to see a pattern. The Rick Rubin doc was the final nail in the coffin for me. The Carters are really insidious grifters.

Which do you consider Beyoncé's debut year? 1997 or 2003?
Why shouldn't they? Outside of Bootylicious, if you just heard them, what's the difference? Those are Beyonce songs.

Maybe this has already been discussed, but reading this makes me believe the staging for all 3 shows were designed at the same time…and somehow relate to the visuals filmed. She's discussing the Renaissance tour yet talking about the red cowboys that we only saw open the L.A. shows of the CCT a year later. Also the bit about geometry with RWT background and C-stage being a hole/circle followed by CCT's both being a triangle. The red cowboys representing redlining gradually changing from all red in the first shows to various time being red, white or/and blue to finally all gold. Her mind! https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/es-devlin-book-interview

Jay-Z says it's inauthentic when older artists make young music
The way no one stopped to think he may not have been talking from experience is bewildering. Jay is the oldest hip hop legend that still carries some type of social currency. He could be speaking from mistakes he's made in the past. However, even with obvious missteps, his main point rings true.

Destiny's Child: A Samples Legacy
Didn't see this one in the OP, or posted by anyone. But this was an album track, so not an officially released single. Edit: sample is around the :40 sec mark Don't want to bombard these threads with all the samples, interpolations and references you've unlocked from my memory lol….from dancehall (Beyonce whine) to all the NO bounce samples/interpolations I've gone back and listened to since finding your other thread.
