This is just my second full length Madonna album experience, the first being Ray of Light, and I'm actually blown away by this project. One Step Away, to me is like "classic" Madonna - in my top 3 of her discography up there with Bedtime Stories and Nothing Really Matters.

Initially in the Beyonce base I was on the side of defending him since the boycott was ended months before this announce…however, like one of the tweets in the OP said, you start to see a pattern. The Rick Rubin doc was the final nail in the coffin for me. The Carters are really insidious grifters.

She's discussing the Renaissance tour yet talking about the red cowboys that we only saw open the L.A. shows of the CCT a year later. Also the bit about geometry with RWT background and C-stage being a hole/circle followed by CCT's both being a triangle. The red cowboys representing redlining gradually changing from all red in the first shows to various time being red, white or/and blue to finally all gold. I missed this post but I can appreciate the perspective given. Do you think you were able to enjoy ST and LEM because you had a clear explanation on what these projects meant and the symbolism within them. Specifically LEM with the visual element including the poems? I can be honest and say I didn't like or get LEM until I watched the film. I still don't particularly care for CC as a whole, but certain songs did grow on me after seeing the show. To me there are 2 types of artists (those that are impactful with their work and those that have to "feed the machine") Michael vs Prince Drake vs Kendrick…ect. One isn't necessarily better than the other. Both tend to be revered in the same way (sidenote Beyone is NEVER going the way of Ms. Abdul …tuh

Actually you said videos AND live performances…of which there are many with visual clues that people are just now figuring out. Like I said she's been playing with Solar themes since HOMECOMING. The ending portion of HOMECOMING features a Solar eclipse which then also marked the start of the RENAISSANCE tour. She said explicitly in Vogue (in 2022) that release dates are meaningful this time around. She released Break My Soul at the start of Summer Solstice. Her record label tweeted this out for a reason. Can we at least agree that, even if we don't understand it in the moment, this woman has become very intentional? She was teasing LEM 6 months before we got it and those posts only made sense in retrospect. We watched her film ST through pap photos in real time while on tour (we know she can avoid paps..) But I'm typing "essays" now lol. I'll see my way out until August

And that has changed how? Because it's not constantly flooding the TL? I'd argue she's placed more emphasis on that in the more recent years as that's been her primary way of "communicating" to this base. It's all but confirmed that we are getting a visual project to put a nice bow on this 3 act thing. There are visual themes in her performances dating back to Homecoming that tie into both REN & CC.

But…the tings you said only relate to the success of the projects? Does that weigh heavily on how you personally receive and connect with them? Genuinely asking…

I feel like this 3 act project would've been received much better in a different time - where people aren't constantly stimulated and looking for instant grat. To put this much detail and thought into something as expansive as what we're getting and have your own fans saying you don't care about anything is…something. Her actions imply the polar opposite of what this base has concluded.

I'm starting to really believe the dystopian film theory about these acts. I just re-watched I'm That Girl…and it definitely seems like the doors are portals. There's 2 distinct Beyoncé's in the video the robot one and the one in plain clothes (jean jacket/boy shorts). Both open 2 separate doors leading out and then the song begins…we get flashes of all those different looks. Then opening into the Renaissance both on the Renaissance Tour itself and CC Tours we enter echoville through the portal. The start of CC Tour is horses running towards something and the end of the tour horses again running… Then there's her explicitly stating in that 2022 Vogue write up that the release dates are intentional with Break My Soul being released on June 21 to align with Summer Solstice and all the solar eclipse imagery throughout the tour. Which has also been mentioned in these theories.
