Bey hasn't released visuals of anything in 6 years and counting. We don't know if the quality is still there, probably not since she was not satisfied with them

every single tour interlude and teaser has been quality though.

was that not meant to just underline Grace Jones as an important inspiration for this era? It never seemed like lazy writing. The repetition was a bit of a wink.

The way Renaissance, Lemonade, and CC all do less streams than Slayyyter (her album is fierce, dont get me wrong).

But "global legend" and then these weak ass numbers? Thats crazy.

You might be the one with a kink for self imposed torture with these tired daily remarks.

And i say this with luv (I lied)

She loves to launch brand or rebrands during album cycles though! Make the rollout interviews about the brand rather than the music

I'd like to see slayyyter try to fill a stadium for one night let alone 5-6 nights in a row, though coffee2

They meant something else.

Yes, Beyoncé can fill stadiums, although streaming data shows that Gen Z and Gen Alpha don't **** with her much, which is not a big deal at the end of the day. I mean, Beyoncé is a billionaire now and she seems to only care about money lately, but how can a new audience learn about your legacy then? Especially since even Mariah and Madonna are trying to appeal to a younger demographic. Just saying.

Interesting that they are head to head when people like to paint CC as a "rejected" project and claim Renny is so much more popular

she won't capture gen alpha audience like that and that's okay. I'd rather her make good music than make music for children.

it'd be a different story if her music made no noise but everyone still follows and cares about her and when she's active, she's collecting #1 hits and Top 10 singles. I wouldn't worry too much about how her music is doing while she hasn't released anything new in over 2 years

Why does hive continue to diminish the younger audience ace They are the reason those songs were hits. Tiktok did the impossible and turned her music into viral moments without her lifting a finger, the audience WANTS to engage but she sabotages herself to make sure it doesn't happen for no reason at all

I get what you're saying but I'm responding to the thread about Slayyyter album streaming better right now. she's a younger breakout artist with a viral hit currently, of course her streaming is good. when Bey chooses to do something, her streaming isn't abysmal either — didn't Cowboy Carter have the biggest streaming day for a female album besides T****r Stiff?

however I do also believe she shouldn't aim to engage young audiences. the worst kind of art is art that tries to appeal to the largest audience possible. her audience is skewing older as she grows older and sings about more adult topics. that's ok for the hive to accept, I'd think.

I mean, sure. However, those #1s are both short-lived and her worst lead singles, while quality is still undoubtedly there (ahem, Alien Superstar).

The thing is that she's not winning the longevity game as she used to, and this partly due to streaming. Whether she likes it or not, this is how music is being consumed now, and she has to adapt if she wants people to discover her work.

It makes sense, but as I see it, the entire fanbase was excited for CC mostly thanks to the hype generated by the Renaissance era, which translated into a strong debut. While Renaissance certainly debuted with lower numbers since it came after The Gift and EIL.

She kinda does from time to time though. There were AC songs on CC, but also trendy ones like Tyrant.

she literally had her longest-charting Hot 100 hit during the Renaissance era...

sometimes y'all focus too much on one streaming platform and how she compares to artists that are significantly newer and/or blander than her.

she's the 27th most steamed artist (as lead) on Spotify. 7th woman. all the women above her began their music careers at least 8-9 years after Beyoncé, closer to the digital/streaming eras. yet she's still up there! despite atrl and daily streaming threads making you believe she's getting ignored.

I think some of the Hive thought Bey would be the exception to the rule, and she'd somehow stay relevant and cool to younger and younger audiences. It doesn't happen like that. Time marches forward, and no one is immune. Despite that, she's still incredibly culturally relevant; Madonna in her COADF era is really the only benchmark we can compare it to.

act iii will likely be another big success for Bey, but it's the album after the trilogy that I believe will tell us a lot. She's going to keep slowing down, and she's not going to be out there trying to make audiences the age of her children obsessed with her. She's in a transitional phase.

but that's precisely the problem, she was and still can be the exception. unlike all the other oldies like xtina, madonna, mariah, jlo etc her music didn't progressively become worse with age and neither did her visual output or brand image. she didn't become the cheap, pandering, cringe mess in tacky outfits like most of the other ones who reached 40.

her music clearly still resonates with younger audiences (Ren and the tour showed us that, same for the huge CC spotify debut and constantly viral music on tiktok). she could still dominate if she really tried and could at least do a billion times better if she just did the bare minimum ( aka music videos, a performance here and there, some public visibility during active eras, an actual streaming strategy, all her albums available on vinyl, her performances on actual streaming platforms or youtube etc).

that's why it's insane for the bootlickers to expect other fans to just accept that she'll become an old flop like her peers when it doesn't have to be like that at all

Personally, I'm always in a dilemma of understanding her not caring because she quite frankly had it all and then some. And at her point, does any of it would improve her life? Probably not, actually it would worsen it because more success would result in more tabloids and that could impact the lives of her kids. So that I completely understand.

What really bothers me is how she clearly CAN show up for things that ultimately don't matter to me as a fan of her MUSIC, but matters to her because of her WALLET. And that irks me beyond measure. She's a billionaire, for all I care she should give back 950million to the world, it's obscene to me. Yet she has this hyper-capitalist nature about her where she feels motivated to show up for Cecred, to show up for Sir Davis, and WORST of all, show up for her husband coming up with GROSS ideas of opening up casinos to rip off the poor. It's disgusting to me. And not only that, she puts effort into depriving us of content and putting it behind pay-walls. And for what? To make more money? Really? You own over 1000 millions and you worry so much about money that you can't officially release the RWT movie that you've already shown in theaters? You can't release a cute mini-performance from home of 2-3 songs that would cost you a max of 3 days of your life to give back to your fans? You can't release a standalone MV that has a budget of 200k (which you get back in interest at this point) for one lead single in 2 years because suddenly you don't care about visuals any longer?
She shows less engagement towards her music than towards things that only enrichen her more.

'Shouldn't aim to engage younger audiences' but people also want her to chart, not retire, keep selling out stadiums, etc.

Appealing to younger audiences is exactly how we keep the budget for high-quality, expensive albums like Acts 1 and 2...

Also can we stop acting like Spotify is only for Under 25s? Or that Gen Zs aren't in their late twenties rn?

We keep making excuses, but the reality is that her streams are terrible and her team has failed to keep her present in the minds of most generations when she's off cycle. When she's on, it's fine, she does great. But the off is a key issue and will ultimately impact her legacy.

The reason Slayyyter has big streams rn is because she performs her music live, for cameras, to be clipped and reposted. The audiences are hungry for fresh sounds and talent. Bey's records have fresh sounds and she has immense talent. But her refusal to produce music videos or promote her live performances beyond limited experience cinema events is massively harming the reach and potential of her newer projects.

She obviously doesn't care, and these aren't new suppositions. But I do think we need to stop acting like Gen Z aren't within her target demographic (I'm Gen Z and I grew up on Irreplaceable, turned 16 when Self Titled dropped, and experienced Renaissance in the clubs in my early 20s...)

And I also think we need to stop pretending like most people under 60 at this point aren't on a music streaming platform.

ntm on Moo and Madead now. they've had their stumbles, but they managed to create some of their best work after 40 even after some of those weaker releases. hell, Methuselah is literally about to drop her best album in 20 years in a few weeks.

obviously the way Bey has managed to keep her stumbles to an occasional turd of a song vs entire albums is unprecedented in the big pop girl sphere, but I refuse to have those two lumped in with the likes of Xtinct and JLoser.

These nicknames are sending me deadbanana2

the bootlickers and wannabe parkwood employees keep repeating that streams are meaningless, performances are meaningless, promotion is meaningless, entertaining your fanbase is meaningless and that she's above it all.

they think her legacy is set in stone and that she's selling out stadiums until she's 90 but that's simply not the case. the second people stop coming to see her, and at this rate they sooner or later will, she'll scramble and suddenly become active (an OTR II teas).

hate train after hate train, pushing your fans away, not doing anything to gain new ones, hiding your legacy output from the world and acting like a ghost will end up catching up to her. she's not an invincible superhero anymore, not in this day & age and not with the way parkwood handles things. those who think she'll get the same MJ type of treatment and streaming resurgence are in for a rude awakening. people who don't bother streaming her now won't suddenly do it after she's dead and they won't watch Lemonade, Beybowl, RWT, CCT and the million award show performances she keeps deleting either because they won't be able to. but hey, they can listen to I Was Here i guess…
