Although 2022-2027 for a three-act project is kinda wild. That's just three normal album cycles for a lot of people... With these three projects being under one umbrella, I think everything should've been a little closer together.

I still struggle to understand why ya ya ends so abruptly. In my head I have created the story that she is performing the song and gets shot (BANG) at the end of it

For me personally, the cleanest and most desired versions of "visuals" spanning the three album is a 2-2.5 hours long 'movie', with a real plot, spanning some of the songs from each project (that connect to build the story of the film). Even 3-4 songs from each act - adding to maybe about 13-14 songs and lots of instrumentations from the other songs during the more plot parts of the 'film'.

B has clearly explained that she cares about her filmmaking and her legacy as a visual artist and filmmaker, and if that is the path she want to take, so be it, but I hope her next 'film' has more of a clear narrative structure and plot! (rather than a more artistic, interpretive and purely thematic exploration like Black is King)

i think echoville will have a plot, which is partially the reason why we need all 3 acts to understand the visual. it takes at least 3 acts to make a complete story in writing.

Idk if I buy that it's taking her this long to film. Renaissance was 4 years ago…she filmed the B'Day anthology in two weeks. Shes shown she's more organized and intentional than this. Taking 4 years to work on a film on and off doesn't seem very Beyoncé of her

If you watch "Sweet Dreams," you can even see mistakes in the editing. During the intro instrumentals, she's lipsyncing despite there being no vocals lol

I don't really think she took too long to release her albums. The time between Renaissance and Cowboy Carter felt perfect, act iii it's taking more time because there might have been an issue. But these are still +1h, complex albums, and she could still release over 3 hours of music in less than 4 years. The argument of regular album cycles works in the other direction too: Gaga took almost 5 years between Chromatica and Mayhem, Adele took 5 years between 21 and 25, and between 25 and 30, Rihanna took 3,5 years between Unapologetic and Anti… And all of those are shorter albums. And even from a "same project perspective", Janelle took 2007-2013 to release the first 5 suites (1 ep, 2 albums) to release her Cindy Mayweather story and The Weeknd took 2020-2025 to release his latest trilogy.

It's because she keeps changing the albums, doesn't mean she spends the entire time working on visuals…

she has switched up her work flow. she started this with The Gift when she didn't film BIK until after its release, rather then simultaneously filming and recording, which is why we didn't get until a year later. A lot of hive didn't think it was very Beyoncé of her then either. But she is slowing down and has told us as such.

renaissance's visuals are done obviously. we saw them at the RWT. but she didn't start filming them until after the album came out, while also rehearsing for the tour and recording new additions for act ii. we know she was changing the album up to its release. then after act ii came out, she was filming for it (we saw new footage at CCT), then rehearsing for the tour and (if rumors are to be believed) overhauling act iii. so realistically she has filmed very little for act iii as of now, as she's probably still working on the album.

I think the trilogy has been handled well. If they were any closer, we wouldn't have got a tour for each of them. And that's been the main promotional activity for each act.

I think the visuals have been mishandled, and if they come out, I think will be a super niche output for super fans only. I suspect that she wasn't happy with the visuals at first, changed them up, then tried to shop them to streamers and there were no takers. She's now sitting on them, and either plans to release at the end of trilogy or will just keep them. But if she puts them out, it won't align with a promotional strategy for the albums.

If she had released visuals for Rennie, at the right point, it could have taken the era stratospheric. I don't think the visuals for CC would have had the same effect.

I guess. but the B'day anthology gives shot in 1 room with party city dresses/wigs, as quickly as possible.

that's not to say it isn't iconic or groundbreaking, but it's also silly to compare her visuals now / post- self-titled to something like B'day

I actually prefer B'Day anthology to a lot of her more recent visual work. There's something about Beyonce that shines when there is an immediacy, where she doesn't have time or scope to over think and goes into performance mode rather than concept mode.

You feel closer to her creativity in way, and her personality. I think that's true even in basic videos like Ego. I mean $20 dollar and a dream, but she shines, in a way I don't think she does as much as visuals for BIK for example. Although there are many highlights.
