Miguel - 'CAOS'

omg the psychedelic rock vibes on The Killing? a bit ominous like a modern day version of DOA by Bloodrock which I know is kind of a niche reference but that's what my mind immediately went to :WAP:

  • I can't believe his comeback is making 0 noise. It kinda felt like he was building a cult following in the late 2010s/very early 2020s

this album was a nice surprise for me...i think this alternative sound (rnb+rock/industrial vibes) is definitely his lane .

several songs here have INSANE switchups that somehow don't feel formulaic even though it's a motif, the one in The Killing is very acid rock and the one in Nearsight [SID] is gorgeous new wave/post-punk vibes :clap3: there was another that stood out I'll try to pinpoint it after my first listen is over

His name is drowned in the algorithm. I don't understand how he became so anonymous when he hangs with the elites.

First thoughts:

Nearsight is the one.

Wish Triggered was longer , the end breakdown/production really hits.

Prefer the 2nd half over first, was surprised with the grunge sounding songs

He waited way too long to follow up War & Pleasure unfortunately. And didn't do enough to capitalize on some of his debut album's songs going viral on TikTok a while back.

That all being said the album is fantastic as always. When he shows up he always delivers in quality at the very least.

Surprisingly, it's as good as its predecessors, if not better. great work. so many early faves (The Killing, Nearsight [SID], Triggered being some of them).

I've played the album five times in a row. Every song is pure fire!

careful @ myself because Nearsighted [SID] has song of the year potential if you play it enough :jonnyknife:

I wanted more songs I could have sex to but it's a good and cohesive album, doesn't feel like a throwback cash grab like it could have been after such a long hiatus. Need to listen more to fully digest it.

This is such a surprising album for me I don't spin that much Miguel that last time I recall was Give It To Me.

Nearsight is his best song I fear

Loved him singing in Spanish, it fit his voice so well!  CAOS, The Killing, Triggered, Perderme, Oscillate my faves.

A journalist on Twitter said he had a completely different album two years ago that he heard and if he did he really should've released both as a double album.

8 years is too long of a wait for 30 minutes of music with no commercial hits no matter how excellent it is.

He always delivers quality!

Im digging this. I saw a lot of negative comments on twitter, it's like they didn't even listen to the singles - which they probably didn't because they went unnoticed. 😕

reminds me of Wildheart a bit... which was his best album

Yeah i would like to hear the original 2023 album. I feel it was going to be a less experimental record. Give It to Me was very good.
