The saddest thing is that she fooled everyone a year ago. Literally everybody was excited when she announced the title and when she posted the aesthetics of the "Showgirl" era. People were expecting something great, a shift in her sound. Showgirl implies music with big instruments like Back 2 Basics by Xtina, or something experimental with a thought out theme throughout the era like Jade's "Showbiz" era. Or something like what Kylie Minogue does. But she gave nothing , she gave lukewarm pop songs. TFOO is a cute song and it was a mega smash, but that's about it. The aesthetics were there but the sound wasn't. And don't get me started on these new songs, they have absolutely nothing to do with a "Showgirl". The last music I could enjoy by her was the "Midnights" era. I couldn't get through TTPT. Everything she does feels inauthentic nowadays. Her writing game became very childish. Take a break and come back with something like Folklore and more meaningful lyrics, stop trying being a teenage girl, Taylor.

I like the melody, but it's a good song wasted on a really basic and cringy lyrics. She could have done something great with that title, but here she is talking about a man again and being the victim. Doesn't fit the theme SHOWGIRL at all. I like the song I just wish she would mature in the lyrics and give us other topics.

It's a cute album and some songs I will come back to, my faves are: 1) REDLIGHTS 2) Bass Persuades 3) Innocent Ways 4) Neon Signs I appreciate that all songs are 3:20 minutes +, you don't get that often anymore. I think this is not worse than Something Beautiful, I could not get into that album when it was released, I started appreciating it this year by listening to it more though.
