The first country artist I ever got into was Shania Twain. Then I got really into Carrie Underwood's first albums, and I became a huge country music fan when I discovered Miranda Lambert's discography around 2009. I used to listen to some male country singers too, but nowadays I don't enjoy country music as much as I used to. These days, I mostly listen to Miranda Lambert and her projects (Pistol Annies), Kacey and Ella Langley.

AOTY for me The first time I listened to it, I was like "ok, it's not better than Raven" but then I thought, let me experience it as its own thing without comparing it to anything. This album is SUCH a grower. Even the tracks I wasn't really feeling at first have become absolute jams to me. It feels like the album has this very specific atmosphere, like I'm being teleported to another dimension. "the bridge" is easily the best track on the album. The sequence of "against me" into "crystallize" is insane. And the bridge on "new life forms"??? I feel like I'm literally levitating. "don't piss me off" is another bop. "If we meet again" is officially my shower anthem now.

I wish that awful edit of "Underneath the Stars" - (one summer night... laughing) that's going viral on TikTok and Instagram would boost the song's streams, but I feel like barely anyone even knows that the edit is from this song lol.
