Britney posts bizarre video about baking bread

Featured Replies

A lot of people in here are saying "but is she hurting anybody?" And that's a very important question to ask. I think the concern people are showing in this thread is exactly because they are asking themselves that question. Is Britney truly safe? Freedom from the conservatorship means she has removed some serious dangers from her life, but it does not inherently mean that she is fully safe.

And it's more than okay to be concerned for somebody else's well-being and safety. A lot of Madonna fans turned a blind eye or tried to defend the very out of character behavior she displayed for years leading up to her near-death experience before the Celebration Tour. And ever since that moment happened, she's been acting much more like herself, both at shows and on her social media. I refuse to believe that was a coincidence.

Trust your gut on stuff like this. Better to be overly cautious in situations like these.

She is going to die if she does not get the help she needs.

This thread really shows how easy it is to get away with substance abuse, because it's so shameful that other people don't even want to acknowledge that someone else got a problem. I hope she beats this illness and she should give up the music industry and become a private person. She's already a legend and doesn't have to prove anything.

We are not her therapist or family members :rip:

Was this your same line of thinking during #FreeBritney?

You don't need to be closely related to somebody to show concern for their well-being. If we did, nobody would ever speak up about anything. :rip:

You're missing the point.

#FreeBritney was about her right to personal autonomy. I think it's very clear to even laypeople that Britney is struggling with her mental health, but a video about bread is not evidence of her posing an imminent risk to herself or others. We are not privy to the conversations she has with her doctors, her therapists, or her family. We have no idea what interventions are in place, we have no idea what her diagnoses are, we have no idea what her risk factors are, we are not licensed clinicians, or if we are, we are unable to diagnose her as professionals who have not sat in a room across from her in that setting. Expressing concern is very different from becoming an armchair psychologist or worse...bastardizing her struggles for stan fodder.

8 pages for this? I'd say some of you are projecting your insanity because oh wow. Lord forbid a woman loves bread.

Do you then mean that the people in this thread are not as bad as her family or therapist? Whatever point you think you're making, perhaps it's not as clear as you think it is. :michael:

i mean… in fairness a good slice of sourdough makes me act the same

I don't know how all these alleged fans can see her like this and not be heartbroken. I idolized Britney Spears for my whole life and I had to unfollow her years ago because videos like this are gut wrenching. She's just not okay. It's okay to be not okay but that doesn't mean it's fun to watch or engage with her in this state.

If it wasn't legendary icon Britney Spears acting like this and it was some random woman in your community, none of you would be making excuses and anybody with a conscience would be checking up on her. Britney deserves the world and instead she still seemingly has nobody who cares about her beyond what money they can make from her, they're just enabling her instead of forcibly drugging her now. What Wendy said is as true now as it was then.

This is truly heartbreaking... and there's nothing we can do to help her.

Thanks for adding this, as it definitely helps me see where you're coming from. It seems we're not talking about exactly the same thing in at least one aspect.

At the core of these discussions, from my point of view, is our ability to speak up when you see somebody who is or could be falling down. You are absolutely correct that we are not privy to her personal life or any conversations that could be happening behind the scenes. But remember that weren't privy to it before either, and we had no problem voicing our concerns and speculations when they got the impression that Britney was in danger. People did it so loudly in fact that they eventually took to the streets to protest what was happening.

Those concerns put a major spotlight on her case, and it's wonderful that Britney is no longer under the conservatorship. That, however, does not inherently mean that Britney is safe.

And I would hope that you're not accusing me directly of "bastardizing her struggles for stan fodder," as I don't think anything I've written even comes close to that. I'm a fairly casual Britney fan and own several of her albums. But I'm coming at it from a different point of view. We've seen other stars struggle (Marilyn, Frances, Billie Holiday, Lindsay Lohan, Brian Wilson, Kurt Cobain, etc.), and I don't think it's a bad thing to voice concern. It's not coming from a place of malice. I would hope nobody here wants Britney to suffer. I hope she is getting the help that she needs. I just question whether that is happening given that the only peaks we get into Britney's world are the ones that she shares, and she does not appear to be lucid in them.

I'm glad Madonna almost died and now y'all closer than ever or whatever but that's not applicable here.

That's not concern. I mean, maybe you are concerned, the rest though just wanna gossip how "bizarre" she is or how there's "something going on". The point was very clear doe. You're not a family member, not a friend, not her therapist, it's not your place. You're free to speculate in the ATRL threads (which is gross because y'all know the Britney lore).

And EVEN if there's something going on (there's not), tf you gonna do? Start a change.org petition? Call for a wellness check?

Like you think being administered hard drugs one doesn't need for a decade+ wouldn't affect one's mind/personality/whatever the ****? That's how she is, she's happy twirling in her lil mansion, painting with her dogs, blogging about sourdough or whatfucking ever.

LEAVE HER BE.

What a repugnant thing to say. See, this, is bad faith discourse for stan fodder.

Show the exact post where I wrote that I didn't think the administration of hard drugs and subsequent detox wouldn't affect her. Show me where I said that.

All these fake fans who attack people who are actually concerned about her well being

I just hope she gets the help she needs. She deserves the world.

Shes so drugged up :( u can just tell

She's under medicated as a matter of fact

OP: To be fair I don't think she's crazy she has bipolar and probably some unhealed trauma from her Dad and family, she's needs therapy and meds to help her but nobody's saying that to her, not even her son who should but he is in for the money and not truly in saying to her what she needs.
But also let's not forget Britney has always been like this, the video is cringy but people are blowing this out of proportion

As a huge fan, at this point, I absolutely "don't want her to be perfect pop princess" like some posts implied, nor I even expect new music from her - in fact, I fully accepted that she's retired and will likely never release new music.

I just want her to be okay, and she clearly doesn't seem okay. She has issues and it seems like there's no one around her that can help her. It's absolutely heart-breaking to watch. She's damaging her reputation.

ATRLs daily Britney psycho-analysis :clown:because of a "weird" social media post. :rip: It's funny to see the same users' brazenly stupid takes across subforums and vastly different topics.

OT: Why has no one mentioned the outfit? lmao it reminds me of  madonna's 2000s British mum era, kinda here for it. :celestial5:

Not you saying this as if it were one-off social media post. This is constant, almost daily, and they get more disturbing every day.

I just hope she is ok, but she does not seem to be. She must do something and get out of that house.

I hope you lot realise the only people that could help Britney are her sons and she's only seen Jayden a couple of times and Sean is K.Fed 2.0

It really doesn't matter if you believe she's mentally ill or eccentric, or whatever you want to believe because at the end of the day it's nobody's business.

God, seeing this is so depressing. She was lightning in a bottle. What happened.

This just makes me sad and concerned for her health. She's clearly extremely high.
