As everyone knows, all of the singles from 143 were commercial failures as none of them managed to get top 40 placings in major markets or get good streaming numbers.

 

Although When I'm Gone, released in the last days of 2021, managed to get over 300 million streams on Spotify it didn't go top 40 either.

 

As of today, Katy hasn't had a top 40 hit in five years since Daisies was released in May 2020. Do you think she'll be able to ever get another top 40 hit?

Maybe with a good single, the problem is that Katy and the music she releases doesn't has the potential in this decade to be a Hit, considering that she herself says she likes the music she is releasing I don't see changing from producers or songwritters.

I doubt it. But she can score #1 on Bubbling Under chart if she tries hard

As a former-xtina stan, I never thought Keeps gettin' better would be her last solo top 10. That was in 2008.

Fire the current team. Hire a good publicist and AR. Make her shut her mouth and remind everybody of all the hits she has.

Then ask every producer in town to pitch ideas for a comeback single. Choose the best ones and book sesions with them to finish the album.

It's doable. She's just not on the right space to do it atm.

If Madonna can get a feature hit like Popular, so can Katy.

OT: Yeah, I could see her nabbing another one, probably as a feature on someone else's song like someone else suggested.

 

If it were to be her own song, I'd say it would have to be released sooner rather than later, but with her past… string of subpar/underwhelming/sonically cruddy albums, maybe she needs to step back and cool off a bit before taking another swing.

But her features are pretty stellar, I'd attempt that first.
