I feel this is the record that should've been the follow up of Melodrama.

 

I'll have to listen it again. But I'm just not connecting with the content and her anymore.

David is absolutely heartbreaking, oh girl..  this is def the aoty

I just finished my first listen. I like it quite a lot on first impression, every Lorde album feels quite introspective, this one is the same, with interesting through line of identity. I feel she was quite experimental with the sounds she used, not everything is experimental, of course, as it's still a pop album, but the inspirations and the melodies are quite interesting.

 

Overall I think it's a great addition to her discography and I'm looking forward into hearing it again.

I think it is her most interesting production wise, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it overall because this is the first time I don't relate to a lot of the subject matter. 

 

I do really enjoy Favorite Daughter and of course If You Could See Me Smash

ugh we're so back, I can't stop saying it. Definitely (obviously) better than SP, and if you remove the nostalgia/relatability of PH, I do find V to be a better album. It can't top M for me, but V is def up there in her discog. I'm so happy as a Lorde fan today; I feel reignited

 

I almost wish Girl So Confusing could have been added with just Lorde's verse, and not the horrific other's parts; it's so related + integral to this album!

I enjoyed and im sure it will get better after a few listens.. found hard to focus on the lyrics.

 

Broken Glass was the highlight on my first listen 

the fact this album won't end up having a +85 score is criminal.

as someone who has gone thru a long battle with eating disorders ever since being a teenager, broken glass has made me feel so seem. truly one of her most gorgeous songs ever. the lyrics are so so so honest.
