I was watching a video about alcohol consumption and made me wonder about ATRL

    I don't drink alcohol

I usually don't drink much, maybe two glasses of wine or a gin tonic. But yesterday I went to an office party and had like four drinks, I was super tipsy during the whole thing :deadbanana4: but it was fun!

I don't drink since middle of January 2024. I only had one drink at my 30th birthday party, since then.

on special occasion or friends / colleagues get together so rarely

Used to drink weekly in clubs and pubs uo until i was 24. Then colitis and colon cancer struck and i haven't had a drop since.

Once a week I have a Prosecco day, which sometimes can be replaced with a JD and coke day, in extreme occasions they're intertwined and the results can be devastating

None. I struggled a lot with alcohol consumption in my teens/early 20s, and it led to many of the worst experiences of my life. I decided to quit drinking completely around 5 years ago when I stole my roommate's spirits, got blackout drunk, vomited on myself and passed out at 2 in the afternoon. I think it was the embarrassment that weirdly enough pushed me to quit.  I still get very strong urges to drink occasionally, mainly because I miss the feeling of being drunk more than alcohol itself. Overall though, stopping was one of the best decisions I've made.

In college I went through 2 of those plastic massive vodka bottles a week. Then I got my **** together and didn't drink for almost 2 years. Now I'll go out once every like 2 weeks but drinking gives me such a bad hangover now that I can't drink more (thank god for that).

I have a single glass of wine maybe once or twice a month. That's about it.

I have never drunk alcohol in my life.

I will never drink alcohol.

I exclusively drink still water, and, from time to time, green tea.

I don't drink as much alcohol anymore. I'll get drunk with my besties from time to time, though.

Now... I do enjoy the company of Mary Jane Holland almost daily

I used to every day until I was literally medically advised to stop drinking altogether. Now I'm literally this emoji unless i take street diazapem :jonny5:

It depends. I love having a drink on the weekends. If I don't have any plans on a Friday night, and I'm just at home, I'll have a bottle of wine. After that I'll stop. If I have plans to go out, all cards end up going off the table tbh. :skull: Because when I'm out I'll start with a glass of wine or two to get the buzz, then move on to spirits, shots sometimes get involved, and I sometimes change up what spirit I'm drinking and it's just easier to lose track and get a lot more drunk.

I don't beat myself up for heavy drinking on a night out though. I just think in my older age I'm realising I prefer having a night in and feeling more in control of what I'm drinking.
