It's ******* repugnant that this is the reaction on this website whenever a kpop song becomes a global hit. I'm literally black pink's biggest hater on ATRL but it's still so transparent what's going on here and it's shocking.

 

Then again 10 years back it was acceptable for Britney and Gaga fans to get on here and say rap isn't real music. I guess the gays needed to find a new outlet for racism and this time it's against an even smaller minority group.

Not sure I'd say annoying, but certainly it's bad. 

Obviously once you hear a song literally everywhere, it does become annoying but that doesn't remove the FACT that it's still a great and easy fun song to listen to. Plus, Bruno and Rosé have great chemistry not only irl but vocally as well, so I'd be happy if they were to collab again in the future

What's so interesting about this comment is that you're only revealing your own biases. That South Koreans are some poor little oppressed minority compared to the failing nation USA? Okurr. They are an advanced and powerful, proud nation and Seoul shits on any US city. They don't need or want your thinly veiled sympathy.

 

Plus Rosé literally grew up in the same country (and city i suspect) as Lorde in New Zealand. I think she can handle a little criticism for a very repetitive annoying song that has become a global smash.

The vast majority of the userbase on this website is based in the anglosphere, where east Asians are, a outside of a few concentrated areas, a very small minority. Because of that minority status, rampant racism against them as a group goes unchecked. Half of this thread is either fans or people who run to comment negatively on any Asian music threads. Some of you would really rather develop theses about geopolitics and technology than do some really basic self reflection, then turn around and ask how people can be radicalized into MAGA losers.

 

Comments using "you listen to korean music" are accepted as a gotcha and go unwarned as if the output of an entire country is inherently awful, but "you listen to black artists" in the same context would(rightfully) be a ZTP. They are both minority groups to the vast majority of ATRL users, it's only controversial to say this about one of them
