  • There's only a handful of albums I've listened to that are as rich in sound and references and masterful in its execution as Renaissance. A lady ga ga record would definitely not be among those.

Mayhem has no fillers. Renaissance and its boring R&B nobody asked yes

  • Mayhem is really good, but Renny is just on a whole other level   Arguably Beyonce's best work

Arguably Beyonce's best work

Not yet another thread where Beyhive and Gaga fans will be fighting 💀

(I voted Renaissance, it genuinely changed my life and is my favorite album of all time)

I really love them both so much i'm not gonna vote. :gaycat6:

I'm a monster and I love both. Interestingly enough, both of them serve absolute bangers in their front half and have a comparatively weaker second half.

I'm going to go with the one that:

(1) celebrated the unsung Black legends of dance music across the ages and even had time to sample Madonna correctly (iykyk).

(2) sadly leaked early, but also leaked everywhere thanks to a blogger that is now facing jail time and/or garnishment of her revenue. She has a GoFundMe now for legal fees lol.

(3) continued her streak of albums debuting with above 310K units first week.

(4) achieved a solo #1 single (Break My Soul), solo top 10 single (Cuff It), and solo artistic masterpieces with multiple suites (Alien Superstar, Virgos Groove).

Tell that to your fanbase and the critics, who clearly disagree. :rip:

I'm genuinely curious when people say specific albums changed their life. If you're comfortable, can you explain how it changes your life? I also wanna have my life changed by an album:suburban:

OT: It's a bit unfair to compare an album that just dropped to an album that has had 2 years to marinate. The initial response to Renaissance on here was not as strong as it is in 2025 as albums outside of the box tend to take several listens to grow on people. I hated Mayhem on 1st listen, and by 3rd listen loved it. It's a bit of a toss up for me as I like both albums but I'll go with Mayhem.

Imagine thinking that was meant to be serious. I hid it so cupcakes like you wont be bothered. I actually love both albums but wnjoy Gagas way more. Its a personal preference

The transitions on Renaissance alone beat Mayhem on all fronts. Renaissance is arguably the best album of the 21st century, so its really not a bad loss per se. Its just that Renaissance is brilliant.

Honestly I preferred my first listen of Mayhem to my first listen of Renaissance, but my current view of Ren > my current view of Mayhem.

Just mindset-wise. Renaissance being pushed by Beyoncé through its music as a way of living resonated so much with me and made me adapt a more Renaissance lifestyle, I'd say. This sounds super ambiguous, but it's hard to explain. It triggered something, basically, like no other album has ever been able to do.:suburban:

We need the damn Renaissance visuals already.

It's insane that it's been 3 years, we know they exist and we will probably have to wait another year( if she releases the 3 visual albums at the same time with Act III)

If her he diabolical mind wants to give Act III a full 2 year long rollout and tour without visuals until the end of the era, I think I'm done with her :skull:
