We all know that, undoubtedly, Adele's releases are always highly anticipated, and people usually go crazy for the first single of a new album. But that gradually fades away, and the other singles aren't really as important. Do you think she still has the power to attract an audience for her next lead single release?

She'll have a big debut but not the 20 million Spotify streams of Easy On Me or the 1.1 million US downloads of Hello. Maybe like 12 million first day? 30 helped dispel a lot of the mythos surrounding her.

I don't believe so tbh. Adele is in legacy artist territory. She's basically in a similar stage of her career as to where Celine was during 'A New Day Has Come'

I really don't have the heart for more dreary anthems from her

Easy On Me is literally still charting on Spotify 200 after almost 4 years so yes lol

Absolutely, her next lead single will be another #1 for her

I don't think it'll be as big as Easy On Me, but it'll still have quite a lot of hype.

 

post 30 album, she's become much more active on social media and I feel it's taken away from her old more mysterious(?) persona. It just won't feel as massive of a deal now as it doesn't feel like she's left? As opposed to between 25 and 30 where it felt like she had gone radio silent causing the comeback to be more monumental

Easy On Me had 1.3 m streams yesterday. Yes I think she's still got it.

30 was her "A New Day Has Come" era so her "I Drove All Night" is coming 

she will always be successful at the end of the day

If she makes a simple dance album executive produced by Calvin Harris she will have a huge era again. 

Yes but she should release the entire album like Billie and Taylor did instead of a lead before it. 
 

30 would've debuted with much higher streams if it was released like that.

I think her lead single will have massive hype but people seemed to lose interest very fast with 30. Honestly it just wasn't that good.

Personally, I think she's stuck in a rut doing a type of material that demographic information suggests is what people want from her. She's taking time out because she knows she's lying to herself and secretly wants to do dance bangers. I think her random moments of breaking out with Spice Girls and Sabrina Carpenter tracks are a subtle way of saying, 'F*** you' to her A&R.

I really don't think so. Easy On Me was disproportionately successful compared to the rest of 30 - that is, a mega-smash instead of "merely" very successful - because it was the only thing on the album that sounded like classic 21 and 25 singles. Given that the rest of the album didn't and it wasn't even close to the same blockbuster experience of her prior two eras, it really doesn't set her next album up the same way. Of course I think it'll be successful, of course it'll be a hit especially if the sound is right, but I don't really see it being another RITD, Hello, Easy On Me situation. Happy to be proven wrong, though! When she does it right, she makes genuine magic, and I happily wore an Easy On Me avi and celebrated that song; I wouldn't mind doing it again.
