Perrie - "Rollercoaster"

Featured Replies

I feel really sorry for her. With her voice she could give us real bops but instead we are getting Serena Bartender songs

I wonder who rejected these songs before they made their way to her.

Rollercoaster sounds ok, but in a very Radio 2 fodder / bottom of the Pop Rising playlist kind of way. Woman In Love sounds bad. But they both sound equally indistinctive and don't really make use of

  • NEITHER.   She needs to get back in the studio and find her sound because his bland faceless music isn't going to help her career.   She has such an amazing voice I just can't unde

I couldn't agree more with the general opinions, she had a decent start with FAU but they've done a lot of damage to the launch of her solo career with the decisions they've made ever since. she's so vocally talented that it hurts to see them wasting her on these faceless, uninspired songs :/ I understand she isn't much of a visionary, but this is where the label really should have stepped in to guide her.

Oh No..

The first miss for me it seems, but hey it's only a promo single. I knew I wanted WIL for a reason. :eli: That verse in the beginning of the 1 minute snippet :deadbanana4:

I can see everyone is super excited for Rollercoaster!! The hype is unreal :eli:

she did actually release despite being mute and it's cute

It's quite embarrassing how little interest there is in Perrie. The music is just bland and uninspired. Listening back, her voice is good but she lacks any sort of personality in her voice to give her something unique since she doesn't really have a strong vision.

i love Perrie and i like all her songs including this one. but. scrap everything, start from scratch with new producers. this sounds so cheap. and it's a reoccurring issue.

the way we have at least 1/3 of the album already (unless she scraps some of the singles from it) and we still have zero sense of direction or that the album is even coming anytime soon

What is the verdict? The snippet sounded semi-decent from a melody perspective but the production fell flat for me. Is the full version any different?

It's time for her team to throw her on a few DJ collabs now if future single / album are delayed

Drum up some interest please :cries:

It's sad bc I genuinely think Jade is going to the the only solo mixer to get album out

It's okay, there are nice parts.

I love her voice so much but this music sounds so cheap, unfinished and bland…

Please scrap everything and start again girl!

I mean I prefer this to YGYW for sure, kinda eats but I agree the production is bad, sounds v tinny

Brutal but true. It's crazy how so many of us imagine solo Perrie as a pop rocker like Olivia and Kelly while her and her team are scratching their heads for 3 years thinking of a vision.

It's growing on me as it's very catchy but it sounds so cheap and basic.

What label is she under?? There is no way they're pushing this album out anytime soon, she'll be stuck dropping random singles here and there

I'd like to think she's dropping these random songs whilst in the studio reworking the whole album to a complete new sound

The song is fine, but I've noticed there seems to be a pattern into making it seems like her solo music is terrible and plain basic when it's aligned to at least 70% of what's out there being a hit on charts.

Had Sabrina released "Tears" everybody would have praised that as the new pop gotha, but since it underperformed, then it's horrible. When it's actually good.

Of course this is my take, but I've seen this exaggeration bandwagon for a while and to be fair … the music is literally harmless lol especially when people asked for vocals and she gave them. Imo, she's overlooked now. Still, I'm glad she's taking time to rework her debut and eventually fix what can be done better. To think that it's mostly the fans making her go back to the drawing board and making her feel insecure of her craft, though … that irks me.

That's what I'm thinking too, that the label decided to course correct after 'You Go Your Way' flopped. Like 'Christmas Magic', I doubt Perrie just woke up one day and thought "I'm gonna write a Christmas song", then approached writers then booked time to record etc. I'm thinking they were already working on new album material and just happened to write "Christmas Magic."

"Rollercoaster" is a cute bop but if this was the 'big hit/silver bullet' song…..I'm glad they're reassessing and rebuilding.

Didn't she work with Fred again at one point? Surely something interesting must have come out of those sessions. I refuse to believe the songs they've been putting out were the best they could come up with. Is it poor taste or what
