She was objectively the best vocalist in the group so it's sad she's probably being told to release Ed Sheeran/Selena/Sabrina leftovers. Label executives are always so out of touch.

If there is a gap until the next single, she and her label might aswell try the approach Sam Smith took for Love Goes.

Just relaunch the era slightly differently and add all songs released so far under a 'bonustrack' tag onto the album

That way she will still release everything but she also leaves room to change direction without it feeling weird

I get that we're in the TikTok era, but goodness can we get a ballad from her? At this point, what does she have to lose? These little Forever 21 generic semi bops aren't connecting. She ate up the Die With A Smile cover a few months ago, lean into that.

We got a ballad but it wasn't really that great..but I agree a good big ballad would be great at some point.

Yeah, her album is shelved.

I think the problem is that she doesn't have a strong creative vision for the sort of artist she wants to be. She even said it, that she struggled to have confidence in the material she was recording. I think the lack of confidence comes through in her music, videos. It's not bad, but it's tentative. 

 

Whereas Jade, sorry to compare them, has such a clear and exacting creative vision. Even if her music isn't as commercial, it's connecting with audiences who value authenticity and artistic integrity more than anything

Regardless of whether or not we get an album now or later or not at all I just want Perrie to be happy and release what she wants to, not what she thinks her fans expect of her.

 

I have enjoyed all 3 singles, the b-side ballad and xmas song she released. Tears doesn't get much replay from me but glad to see some opinion about it has changed as time has gone on

I'm assuming they're announcing it on Monday because that was the day circled on the teaser?

 

The teasers for these were recorded back in May last year apparently, it's interesting that they've been released now. Wonder if it was supposed to be Rollercoaster V WIL for 2nd single but Tears and YGYW were label decisions?

yep she needs her Someone Like You, a big pop ballad. Perrie could absolutely fill that Adele gap we've had. MM&Y is cute enough but it lacks that punch

 

even if she was going the Kelly/P!nk route as we originally thought, she should've given us a Because of You or Just Give Me A Reason by now (or even something closer to Breakaway or Who Knew). she's only served watered down Trustfall leftovers so far

When she first posted them, I thought I recognised the hair/outfit from one of the posts she made around about the time she released Forget About Us, so this makes sense

 

Im surprised they're still sticking with releasing such old material almost a whole year later, given that all the previous material has failed to make much of an impact.. I'd have expected her to have been back in the studio but it doesn't appear that way

Yeah, it is disappointing. Perrie apparently responded to some DMs from fans saying two things; she isn't attending the brits and that there's going to be a big gap before the next single. She's hinted at a collab for the 4th single previously, I hope that they either reinvent the wheel and come back with new material or if they are doing a collab that they actually push it on streaming. Otherwise she may as well just bring out the album for the fans (if label let her).

 

 

 

 

Rollercoaster won 

Well it sounded better than the other one.

 

This whole campaign in general feels so flat.

I liked the Rollercoaster snippet more, so excited to hear the whole thing. 

Her album should have been out by now. 

That extended snippet on Tik Tok is lowkey giving me discovering the GarageBand app for the first time 

I'm feeling (and hoping) that after 'You Go Your Way' bombed they've gone back to the drawing board and 'Christmas Magic' and 'Rollercoaster' is to tide people over till they relaunch.

 

I'm bopping to 'Rollercoaster', Hit single it is not but she's a cute girl. Give us A fun visual for it Per Ala 'Christmas Magic' or 'Midnight Cowboy' and I'd be satisfied to wait for them to hopefully A&R her some hits.

I actually do think that Rollercoaster had potential but the production just is not it, sadly 

 

Maybe the full thing will sound better but the snippets we have so far are…. Yeah 

She needs something edgy, they dont know which way to go.

 

Dye her hair red, sexy her up, and give her some deep house pop. They had something with the pop/rock of Forget About Us. She could have been a cool Michelle Branch/Kelly Clarkson throwback, but they didn't push it or have more material. She needs to completely reimagine.
