both were in the wrong, just admit it. Hyunjin shouldn't have bullied others in middle school, and Irene shouldn't have demeaned her stylist despite being a grown woman. It's as simple as that.

First, I would like to apologize to everyone I offended with the way I spoke and behaved when I was still in school. Looking back to when I didn't know any better than I do now, I'm ashamed of what I did. There is no excuse. I did not know how to be considerate in the way I spoke or behaved and I now realize that I've hurt other people's feelings. I'm terribly sorry about my actions.

I know that it's impossible to forgive the fact that I've hurt people in irreversible ways, whether I intended or not. I also know that my apology and it being accepted cannot undo the wrongdoings of my past. Therefore, I will continue to reflect on the mistakes that I've made.

I also want to thank the people who agreed to see me face-to-face and hear me out. I'm both very humbled and grateful that I got to apologize to them in person as well as through this message.

And if there is anyone else who felt offended by my past behavior that I was not able to speak to in person, I hope this message will share my deepest apologies.

And I'm incredibly sorry to have let down those of you who supported me.

what does Woojin have to do with this? He was neither a bully nor was any of his other allegations proven true. 

Oh please, as if posting bitter on social media as a public figure with the hashtags #psycho #monster is the peak of professional moral behavior standing up for victims of work harrassment. Mind you, by the same person with fangirl posts over the supposed monster from previous work collabs.

 

It's no wonder Irene still has a thriving career while that person got ostracized from the industry, lost tons of work commitments, and got in debt paying off mortgages, which everyone conveniently omits when talking about reputation. Irene, on the other hand, got literally hundreds of posts in support of her over the span of 24 hours and SM surely didn't invest that much, judging by RV's budget ever.

Yeah, saying they lip-synched is wild. Sure, they weren't just singing live, and they definitely had a backing track, which was more prominent during their choreo-heavy moments. The YouTube stream definitely had a more backtrack-heavy mix, so hearing more of their live vocals on fan cams was nice!

 

Lol. I wonder if they will tweak things for Week 2.

She apologized 3 times including to the person affected face to face, never deleted her apology posts online (they are still there even now) and learned from her mistakes.

A year after the scandal, she was back in the top 5 most searched female idols on Naver.

 

What damaged her career was SM keeping her on a hiatus/minimal solo activities for years and years after, way longer than was needed.

 

As soon as they started promoting IRENE again, she was immediately successful again and her album had the highest 1st week sales ever for an SM female soloist.

 

What she did was wrong, but she made a genuine effort to fix it. I don't think she should still be punished for that, half a decade after it happened, and luckily most of the public seems to agree.
