MBK is probably the prime example of this, from using ghost singers to adding new members as a constant threat. There have been multiple instances where idols later admitted that companies would deliberately "keep them grounded," constantly reminding them that they weren't as popular, talented, or indispensable as they thought they were. The ironic part is that these idols didn't talk about it with resentment. Many of them genuinely said they were grateful for it, as if it had somehow been done for their own good.
