While we are waiting for Newjeans' own statement, I would like to point out, fundamentally, this doesn't change things much given Newjeans were still going to leave Hybe in 3 years and redebut as NJZ. How they get there will be affected, whether they are inactive or active, with or without litigation, but the outcome is the same.

Hybe is just going at it the hard way, while doing the most damage possible to Newjeans brand and themselves.

I hope they still have the spirit to regroup in three years. I feel like usually girl group dims off after their first contract or near the contract ends.

They are referring to Danielle signing with the brand Omega as ambassador in December 2024 I think, after Newjeans announced the contract had been terminated and before a ruling was made regarding the validity of the contract. All related activities were carried out through Ador following the injunction ruling, and even Ador posted about it. It's legally weak, but all Hybe's lawsuits are legally weak. It's not confident litigation, it's strategic litigation. Hybe's looking for a scapegoat and doing everything to harm Newjeans.

You are not wrong. But Newjeans have MHJ, and MHJ is an expert in group redebuts at this point following Girls Generation, and f(x) (and SHinee) all losing 1 member. MHJ will pull some magic trick as usual. In 2029, Newjeans will be 1 year older than Blackpink was when they released DDU-DU DDU-DU.

Newjeans4 can in theory file another contract termination lawsuit against Ador, using Danielle's retaliatory lawsuit, and go on another indefinite hiatus, but it's complicated. Danielle has to consult with her lawyers 1st.
