It's the PD of the shows picks.
Now the bigger problem is the Gayo is a festival where they often cover others songs, the bigger problem is Heart2Hearts spent their whole year of covering SM whole catalog.

Yes but the issue is SM has to approve the performance and the song that is chosen.

A song that is written by KARINA, but that SM never allowed her to perform on music shows or year end shows last year. They didn't even want to officially release it when it went viral on TikTok until fans literally begged, then they did and it reached RAK. But when she won first place on music shows there was no posts on the company social accounts.

So the fandom is mad that KARINA was blocked from performing her own song:

I love to be a hater but I can't lie this chorus goes awf. Would be better if someone talented and gorgeous sang it instead but hey!

Omg..........? Is Travis Scott aware? Should someone from K-TRL notify his team?

SNORETIS thieves, talentless, fugly, and frauds. Thanks for showing me this, now I can sleep peacefully at night knowing I don't have a SNORETIS song in my Apple Music library heart

I'm still trying to understand why Jay Park make them kids debut with Sauce Pee in Pants when they have songs like these released as mixtape songs

  1. SNORETIS

  2. TXD (Tomorrow x Disband)

  3. FLOPTEEZ

The unholy trinity of K-Pop. Someone needs to arrest these three immediately.

Song so good, they released SOTY and then disbanded.

The fact that it was Shinsadong Tiger VERY LAST SONG (do not read the lyrics, you will cry).

Honestly, they deserved the world. So talented and such great music. They're still officially together, too!

There's no point in even going back and forth over this, it's just simple business and logic. They did it to stifle the girls and push their overlapping group because they didn't like that min Heejin was working outside of the SHEIN monopoly they are turning the genre into.

Yeah they got what they wanted by silencing the women involved [...]

To expand on this, I don't think Hybe really got the results they wanted in the end. celestial5

Like what Hybe did to Lee sooman but worse, they originally wanted to block MHJ from competing in the industry again with that lifetime non-compete clause in her shareholder contract, which they then attempted to substitute with a 7-year non-compete clause (until 2032). Now it's 2025, MHJ is no longer shackled to Hybe, she just created her own company and is going to be a force to be reckoned with. That's almost the worst-case scenario when you are a big company like Hybe trying to stifle the competition. (That's also why they had chased after her in 2019 or why they had reluctantly given her Ador in 2021, because otherwise she would have left Hybe to create her agency too).

I say almost worst-case because the worst-case scenario would be Newjeans and MHJ swallowing the entire Kpop market, which they were about to do, following NewJeans' 1st full album and world tour. Then upon contract expiration, Newjeans and Min Heejin would have left together in 2029, MHJ would have activated her stock options worth hundreds of millions of $, and Hybe would have lost everything, the group, the producer, and the money. This is solely the result of Newjeans mega success that Hybe couldn't predict. Had Newjeans been less successful, they wouldn't be a threat, MHJ stock options wouldn't be worth much, and this wouldn't be an issue.

To prevent this catastrophic outcome, Hybe 1st tried to blitz a media campaign to assassinate MHJ's character to force her to resign under the pretext of an audit in 2024. When that backfired spectacularly with MHJ standing her ground, with the judge blocking the motion to remove her, Hybe was left with no choice but to go nuclear and to unilaterally (and illegally) terminate her shareholder contract to then fire her, cancelling the non-compete clause. MHJ can work today because Hybe had to cancel her contract because the alternative, with her and Newjeans ruling K-pop together, was worse. From Hybe's pov, that's not ideal, that's taking the lesser poison.

Then you also have a cascading number of investigations and lawsuits following that scandal between Hybe, MHJ, Newjeans, and now the government, putting Hybe and Bang Sihyuk at the risk of being charged for multiple criminal cases for fraud, following a change in government and policy that Hybe couldn't have predicted either and can't be too happy about. It's true after all this, it can be said Hybe has successfully delayed Newjeans from conquering the world, but it cost them a lot, and I'm not sure they are the winner here.

I personally believe we should have the same energy for SNORTIS then we had for Young Possey (still hate the name) and KISS OF LIFE, And the Energy I get with that one member from All Paid Project.

A song I'm sure no one here knows or remembers because its greatest exposure was probably the music blocks on Mnet America but...

They deserved better!

Real Love wasn't even that bad... The fact that they not long ago talked about Coloring Book nearly got them disbanded. The whole comeback was not only a flop but also bleeding money. As the company believed in the song way too much.

And "Coloring Book" is like the crack addled uncouth cousin of "Red Flavor." So Wonmin had the correct instincts, just lacked in the execution. As usual!

The MV needed a STORY. Now, keep in mind I have no idea what the song's really about, but here's what would work: it's a small, conversative country town on a quiet Saturday, sometime in the late 70s. Eunwoo is living a pretty easy life; he's walking around this quiet, kind of decrepit town, oblivious to what's happening in the suburbs. He's thinking, it's Saturday and I'm gonna chill with friends, but he passes a house and sees a man STORMING out, having just had a fight with his gorgeous, now-in-tears wife. The man doesn't look back as he shoves past Eunwoo, shouldering him bodily. Eunwoo intends to say something, but he glances at the woman and there's a spark, an instant connection. The man's gone, and Eunwoo can't explain why, but he moves towards her. She says nothing, doesn't back away. Eunwoo intends to ask if there's anything he can do, but before he can, she asks if he wants some lemonade. He agrees and they spend the next few hours making small talk, distracted by one another's beauty, laughing and almost-crying together.

Eunwoo comes back the next day and he can hear her fighting with her husband again. He wants to go in but he a) knows she can handle herself, and b) he knows if he confronts the man, he might really hurt him. (Eunwoo shows some range here, anger and fury and such). The next Saturday, he's at her house again, as if in a trance. The man's gone. There's no lemonade. This time, they don't wait. They CONNECT. They have become each other's SATURDAY PREACHER. There's a classy, dignified sex scene directed by me with nudity from Eunwoo (no shaft, not this time) and maybe some boobs from the wife; I don't mind those. The connection is brief, but everlasting. The next Saturday, there's a "for sale" sign on the front lawn. He hasn't seen her, but he knows it's for the best. What he doesn't know is that he'll never see her again.

Cut to a wizened version of Eunwoo (played by some old, famous actor we can get for a cheap price) passing the same house decades later, present day. The street has become a vibrant hotspot, but Eunwoo has a nostalgia for that Saturday long ago. END SCENE, #1 ON MELON, THANK YOU TO ME.
