Drift and Bubble are so awful though. Right into the same trash pile with Licorice, Hot Air Balloon, Don't Blink, Don't Blink, Pink Hoodie. Their worst type of b-side.

I usually prefer quirky/hyperpop aespa than hiphop aespa but Rich Man is better than Dirty Work

 

Angel #48 is a career highlight though. The water percussion sound (wtf that is?) is eargasm

angel #28 being on the same vein as yeppi yeppi and not yolo we won

SM has always been like this imo. Titles rarely are similar. 
So next comeback will likely sound very different.

another great release from Aespa. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that they are truly the heir apparent to SNSD at SM. Their comebacks are fresh, they’re afraid to explore but also subvert expectations by releasing something “normal”. Vocally they have never been better, aesthetically pleasing and dancing on point as usual. No other act at SM, let alone in the k-industry right now is touching them. It’s time to accept this as fact. 

def like rich man more than dirty work, would have been even better with the demo bridge but the rap kinda slaps too

The mixed reception is interesting cause although this is a couple notches below that flawless Black Mamba-Whiplash run for me this was much more instant than Dirty Work imo  Only gripe is that they've played it kinda "safe" this era compared to past ones and I wouldn't really go back to any of the bsides besides Angel #48 which is a shame cause I really liked Pink Hoodie/Kill It from the last mini. I can still see this being one of my most played songs this year though

For me it's the change in their sound that's too grating for me this year. Dirty Work and Rich Man are just songs I wouldn't have imagined for them.
