The Rain on Me duo is considered to be two of the most significant pop artists in recent history. However, which of these Italian-descent pop icons was more consistent and served better longevity? ATRL, discuss.

Gaga still pulling the biggest song of the year 16 years into her career - but Ariana has a good run too:clap3:

Gaga had 16 years but lots of flops in between

Ariana has been 13 years counting and successful the entire run. She wins consistency for sure.

Both were consistent and have had a smash musical 10 to 12 years into their career (2018 and 2024), respectively. :clap3:

Congratulations to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

Gaga higher peak, Ariana more consistent. Just this year she had two #1s.

looove Gaga the most but definitely Ariana wins in terms of consistency and longevity  I don't see her really having a flop era ever lol

love Ariana too of course

Gaga 2008-2012 >>> Ariana career

but Ari 2018-present >>>> most of Gaga career

Gaga got her breakthrough hit 15 years ago and has been really inconsistent for the last 12 years. She gets a hit here and there but it's mainly with collaborations. She still exists in the pop landscape but yeah her career is very inconsistent.

Ariana got her breakthrough hit 10 years ago and has the advantage of debuting just before the domination of the streaming era obviously but all of her projects have been more consistent, she has more hits, she feels more popular and relevant. I would say that her highs are not as high as Gaga's but overall, she has been performing better.

Ariana has more longevity but Gaga had a higher and more iconic peak.

"Better" longevity? How do we measure longevity? Because it's just about charts and sales, then of course Ariana. But Gaga is more respected overall and has reached other publics far beyond her original pop fanbase, so I guess that's a kind of "better"...

Ariana has had zero flop eras over 11 years so her. :cm:

Ariana can still score solo #1s more than a decade into her career so I'm going for her

Ariana is far, far more consistent.

Gaga fell off hard with Artpop and hasn't been able to fully recover since with multiple flop/underwhelming eras on her belt compared to Ariana's zero

The one scoring hits at 39

Ariana is still going to move more album units in the U.S. this year.

Let's see how she's doing when she's pushing 40

Ari is more consistent. She hasn't had an underperformed era since her debut.

Gaga has a good run too and she scored hits occassionally but that's it.

How was Gaga doing at 31 btw?

Ariana is literally looking for her exit out of music after years of doing the most, Gaga however, is still staying strong and is about to drop the album of the YEAR
